Kerli is closeby for 2 min. She wanted to stay at the nest for the night
Tibul's body weight surprised us - 3100g, which is very good.
"Tibu only had a few leeches (parasites) in his throat, which were also removed."
Liz01 wrote: ↑17 Aug 2026 21:44 As for Kerli, she did see the humans (Urmas ). But that shouldn't be a problem towards the end of the season. I know this from Dr. Maris S.; he was at the nests when the parents were bringing food, and they came back. They seem to go into autopilot mode at the end of the season.

Autumn 2025, Finland: young, malnourised stork was fed and rehabilited, then flown (by plane!) to Spain, Malaga, and released there for wintering in a nature reserve with other black storks

Katrin from Latvia came out to people, hungry and emaciated. Estonian ornithologists caught her, fed her, and released her. Why can't they do it now? Take her, feed her, and release her.

Chick is in hand and on its way to Karula. It was able to fly 100m. Karulas Urmas would try to feed it in the same place with the already flying Karula BS chicks until TIBU decides to migrate.
Thank you :loveshower:
17:52:24 Human voices heard near the nest tree
-Chick Tibu flushed from the nest tree (~100 m flight) following human activity below.
-The chick was safely secured on the ground by the ornithological rescue team.
-Relocation arranged to the Karula region (Black Stork 4 camera area) to provide supplemental feeding near the fish basket alongside other fledged black stork chicks.
-At 21:46, crane calls were recorded in the area.
