View — uploads.disquscdn.com
The chick hatched on the 22nd of January 2026 and is now 110 days old (12th May).
Plateau chick was weighed at 9.55am today, he weighed 9.2kg, 1.6kg above average. This is an increase of 1.8kg from the previous weight two weeks ago. It is quite challenging and blustery conditions for weighing today with winds around 40 knots from the southwest.

The chick has been fed 7 times by both parents since the last update, 4 times by WYL and 3 times by BOK. As the chick gets bigger longer trips will need to be taken as the parents need to provide enough food for a growing chick and themselves.
WYL’s GPS update: Over the last 8 days WYL has been back to the headland 5 times (2 of those within a twelve-hour period) and had been foraging much closer to the colony than on recent trips. He is now heading further north again.
BOK’s GPS update: over the last 8 days BOK has returned to the headland twice and stayed relatively close to the headland.
