November 26: yesterday evening a call were heard down by River Roost- cameras were down so no news from the nest – still down in the morning. Early morning one adult was seen on RR and there still after 7am, with a possible squonk nearby. Ground crew reported no sightings around the Armory area. Mid morning a young bird was heard on Mangrove Island with the parents, all calling at swoopers -and possibly a second. So our young eaglets may be down on the river with the parents.
26. novembris: vakar vakarā pie Rūstas upes tika dzirdēts sauciens — kameras bija nolaistas, tāpēc no ligzdas ziņu nebija — no rīta tā joprojām bija nolaista. Agri no rīta Rūstas upē tika redzēts viens pieaugušais ērglis, un tas tur joprojām bija pēc pulksten 7:00, iespējams, tuvumā bija arī squonks. Zemes apkalpe neziņoja par nekādiem novērojumiem Armory apkārtnē. Pusdienlaikā Mangrovju salā tika dzirdēts jauns putns kopā ar vecākiem, kas visi sauca kurras— un, iespējams, vēl vienu. Tātad mūsu jaunie ērglēni varētu būt lejā pie upes kopā ar vecākiem.

Agri no rīta Rūstas upē tika redzēts viens pieaugušais ērglis, un tas tur joprojām bija pēc pulksten 7:00, iespējams, tuvumā bija arī squonks. We are sad to report that our younger eaglet SE36 was found dead on the upper floor of a construction site across the river from the nest. We were able to positively identify our fledgling from its distinctive foot ridges. SE36 fledged on November 6 and for some time we have been privileged to see and hear it nearby the nest in the forest – learning to be an eagle. It was seen in the Amory area on November 22, flying strongly and chased by swoopers. We were also pleased to see that it had been down on the river, with the parent eagles. Sadly there are many risks for newly fledged eagles in this urban area. We assume that SE35 is still in the area nearby, though there have been no definite reports as the cameras have unfortunately not been streaming. Contractors working near the DC accidentally damaged the cables for our internet services. We shall pass on any more information when we can. Thank you for your understanding.
Ar skumjām ziņojam, ka mūsu jaunākais ērglēns SE36 tika atrasts miris būvlaukuma augšējā stāvā pāri upei no ligzdas. Mums izdevās droši identificēt savu mazuli pēc tā raksturīgajām pakājēm. SE36 izlidoja 6. novembrī, un kādu laiku mums bija privilēģija to redzēt un dzirdēt netālu no ligzdas mežā – mācoties būt ērgļa lomā. Tas tika redzēts Amory apgabalā 22. novembrī, spēcīgi lidojot un dzenoties pakaļ medniekiem. Mēs arī bijām priecīgi redzēt, ka tas bija bijis lejā pa upi kopā ar ērgļu vecākiem. Diemžēl šajā pilsētvidē jaunajiem ērgļiem pastāv daudzi riski. Mēs pieņemam, ka SE35 joprojām atrodas tuvumā, lai gan nav saņemti konkrēti ziņojumi, jo kameras diemžēl nav pārraidījušas. Darbuzņēmēji, kas strādāja netālu no DC, nejauši sabojāja mūsu interneta pakalpojumu kabeļus. Mēs nodosim jebkādu papildu informāciju, tiklīdz varēsim. Paldies par sapratni.

November 27: Camera streaming has been restored and we have been able to look back at some of the recorded action. Last evening at 19:19 gull prey was brought in, though 35 was not seen at the nest. One adult spent last night by the nest. Early both adults were seen on River roost and lovely flowers were seen that were left in memory of SE36. Then at 7:24 fish prey was brought to the nest though 35 was not seen to eat any. We feel 35 is still in the area though.
27. novembris: Kameras straumēšana ir atjaunota, un mēs esam varējuši apskatīt daļu no ierakstītajām darbībām. Vakar vakarā plkst. 19:19 tika atnests kaiju medījums, lai gan 35 ligzdā netika redzēts. Viens pieaugušais putns pavadīja nakti pie ligzdas. Agri abi pieaugušie tika redzēti upē, un tika redzēti jauki ziedi, kas tika atstāti kā piemiņa SE36. Tad plkst. 19:24 uz ligzdu tika atnests zivju medījums, lai gan 35 netika redzēts neko ēdam. Tomēr mums šķiet, ka 35 joprojām atrodas šajā apgabalā.

November 28: Lady brought a gull chick prey in to the nest at 6:22. Eaglet did not return, so Lady ate it herself nearby. Shortly after neither parent was seen at the river, until just after 9am, one was seen on Mangrove Island. Ground search in the morning showed no sign of SE35 in the area. A quiet day then at 16.30 - one adult at RR being swooped be a currawong. Then a currawong escorted Dad in with a catfish at 5:40 – followed by Lady. 35 is still not seen and Lady ate the fish herself- then parents joined in a duet. In the evening parents were nearby, but we haven’t seen our 35 today. We wonder how long the parents will stay around now?
28. novembris: Plkst. 6:22 Lady ligzdā atnesa kaijas mazuļa laupījumu. Ērglēns neatgriezās, tāpēc Lady to netālu apēda pati. Neilgi pēc tam neviens no vecākiem netika redzēts pie upes, līdz pat plkst. 9:00 no rīta viens tika redzēts Mangrovju salā. No rīta, pārbaudot uz zemes, netika atrastas nekādas SE35 pazīmes šajā apgabalā. Tad plkst. 16:30 bija klusa diena - vienu pieaugušo RR noķēra kurras. Tad plkst. 17:40 kurras pavadīja tēti ar samu, kam sekoja Lady. 35 joprojām nav redzēts, un Lady pati apēda zivi - tad vecāki pievienojās duetam. Vakarā vecāki bija tuvumā, bet mēs šodien neesam redzējuši savu 35. Mēs domājam, cik ilgi vecāki tagad paliks?

November 29: parents were near the nest last night and flew in to the nest early – checking things and moving a few sticks. During the morning lorikeets visited, with the usual lorikeet fuss and noise. Cockatoos were close as well. The wind picked up and was quite strong during this hot day. At 11am, both parents were seen on Mangrove Island. Then a quiet afternoon with no sightings –keeping their heads down in the wind somewhere sheltered. By late evening, no eagles had returned to the nest. Then just after dark at 8pm - both parents came in - a duet and moving a few sticks -then settled close by.
29. novembris: vecāki pagājušajā naktī atradās ligzdas tuvumā un agri ielidoja ligzdā – pārbaudīja lietas un pārvietoja dažus kociņus. No rīta viesojās lorikeeti( krāsainie papagailīši) )ar ierasto lorikeetu rosību un troksni. Arī kakadu bija tuvumā. Vējš pieņēmās spēkā un šajā karstajā dienā bija diezgan stiprs. Plkst. 11:00 abi vecāki tika redzēti Mangrovju salā. Pēc tam sekoja klusa pēcpusdiena bez novērojumiem – tie turēja galvas noliektas vējā kaut kur pasargātā vietā. Līdz vēlam vakaram neviens ērglis nebija atgriezies ligzdā. Tad tūlīt pēc tumsas iestāšanās plkst. 20:00 abi vecāki ieradās – duetā un pārvietoja dažus kociņus – un tad apmetās netālu.

November 30 - an early post: : Parents were by the nest last night and came to nest vey early, fiddled with a few sticks – then away soon after. During the morning both eagles were seen on Mangrove Island. We searched in the forest and nest area though no sign of SE35, & no alarm calls from currawongs. We found a currawong nest – with 2 Channel-billed Cuckoo chicks – probably a currawong we have heard calling at the nest. Late afternoon, we have not seen or heard any reports of SE35.
30. novembris — agrs ieraksts: Vecāki vakar vakarā bija pie ligzdas un ļoti agri ieradās ligzdā, paspēlējās ar dažiem zariem — un drīz pēc tam devās prom. No rīta abi ērgļi tika redzēti Mangrovju salā. Mēs pārmeklējām mežā un ligzdas apkārtnē, taču nekādu SE35 pazīmju neatradām, un arī no kurrām nebija dzirdami trauksmes saucieniem.Vēlā pēcpusdienā neesam ne redzējuši, ne dzirdējuši nekādus ziņojumus par SE35.

No rīta abi ērgļi tika redzēti Mangrovju salā. Mēs pārmeklējām mežā un ligzdas apkārtnē, taču nekādu SE35 pazīmju neatradām, un arī no kurrām nebija dzirdami trauksmes saucieniem.Vēlā pēcpusdienā neesam ne redzējuši, ne dzirdējuši nekādus ziņojumus par SE35.

December 1: no eagles were reported by the nest last night. Neither was reported on the river early or at Goat Island midday. Then spotted there late afternoon, on a windy day. 35 has not been reported today.

December 2: a pair of Brush-tailed Possums visited the nest in the night. Eagles were not seen in the morning, though they were seen later at Goat island, then heading west late afternoon. It seems the breeding season at the nest is drawing to a close.
2. decembrī: naktī ligzdu apmeklēja oposumu pāris. Ērgļi no rīta netika redzēti, lai gan vēlāk tie tika redzēti Kazu salā, un vēlā pēcpusdienā tie devās rietumu virzienā. Šķiet, ka vairošanās sezona ligzdā tuvojas beigām.

SE36 Necropsy
As previously reported, SE36 was found dead on the roof of a building under construction (near Lady & Dad’s river roost) on the 25th of November. On a positive note, SE36’s body was found to be in “excellent feather and body condition, with good muscle mass and ample fat deposits”.
Death occurred due to a “fatal head injury”. The head injury presented as damage to “skull, brain and ocular bones of the skull (right side)”. It is highly unlikely these injuries occurred elsewhere.
There are some test results outstanding which we probably won’t receive till January. One of those is gender related, the others are pathology samples, routinely performed in Avian specimens (eg. Influenza surveillance).
We will not be entering in to further discussion/speculation on this matter. SE36 was found when the construction crew returned from lunch that day. There were no witnesses to fill in the blanks relating to the cause of the injury.

Kā jau iepriekš ziņots, SE36 tika atrasts miris uz būvniecības stadijā esošas ēkas jumta (netālu no tēta un lēdijas upes atpūtas vietas) 25. novembrī. Pozitīvi ir tas, ka SE36 ķermenis tika atzīts par “izcilu spalvu un ķermeņa stāvokli, ar labu muskuļu masu un lieliem tauku nogulsnēm”.
Nāve iestājās “letālas galvas traumas” dēļ. Galvas trauma izpaudās kā bojājumi “galvaskausam, smadzenēm un galvaskausa acu kauliem (labajā pusē)”. Maz ticams, ka šie ievainojumi gūti citur.
Ir daži nepilni testu rezultāti, kurus, iespējams, nesaņemsim līdz janvārim. Viens no tiem ir saistīts ar dzimumu, citi ir patoloģiskie paraugi, ko regulāri veic putnu paraugiem (piemēram, gripas uzraudzība).
Mēs neielaidīsimies turpmākās diskusijās/spekulācijās par šo jautājumu. SE36 tika atrasts, kad būvniecības komanda atgriezās no pusdienām tajā dienā. Nebija liecinieku, kas aizpildītu tukšās ailes par traumas cēloni.
