Ciemiņš diezgan agresīvs un meitene ļoti reti sastapusi tādus svešos, kuri meklē konfliktus.

Kia ora koutou (hello everyone)
Some of the past Royalcam chicks during June.
Although no longer at the nest site both parents have still been able to find her. Increasingly, chicks are holding their wings out into the wind in preparation for fledging in September. Average fledge date is 240 days.
Since hatching at 286 g on the 28th of January, the Signal Station Trig chick has grown to 6.3 kg on day 133 (Tuesday 10th of June, 9.55 am). This is a 1kg increase on last week’s weight. Today’s weight is still below a healthy weight for a female toroa chick of this age so there was supplementary feeding required today
We are around halfway to fledging in September, all the chicks still have a lot of growing and developing to do.
With 1 kg of fish and 400ml of fluid having been supplemented Signal Station Trig chick is only a little under average for a female of this age.
There have been 2 feeds from GLG and 2 from RLK/A85 since the last weigh in and she was supplementary fed after the first weight last week. Another feed possible occurred on the 9th of June when the camera reset itself to a northern view and the chick was off cam for a while.
Around 70% of the toroa diet is squid, but as they are opportunistic feeders’ fish and octopus are also in the diet.
