July 10: a chilly morning. In the night, Lady was up and down, stretching and a possum passed at one time. There were early morning duets, before Dad relieved Lady on the eggs at 6:45. She was away for a good break until she returned after about an hour. She was off again after 30 minutes. Both were in and out during the day and brought leafy branches for the nest. No prey was bought to the nest. They spent almost equal time on the eggs, with both having a couple of long shifts, giving the other a good break. Lady came home just after 5pm and settled for the night. Dad was close as well.

10. jūlijs: vēss rīts. Naktī lēdija bija augšā un lejā, stiepās, un reizē gāja pāri poss. Bija agri rīta dueti, pirms tētis 6:45 atviegloja Lady uz olām. Viņa bija prom uz labu pārtraukumu, līdz atgriezās pēc apmēram stundas. Viņa atkal bija izslēgta pēc 30 minūtēm. Abi bija iekšā un ārā pa dienu un nesa lapu zarus ligzdai. Neviens medījums ligzdai netika nopirkts. Uz olām viņi pavadīja gandrīz vienādu laiku, abiem bija pāris garas maiņas, dodot otram labu atpūtu. Dāma pārnāca mājās tikai pēc pulksten 17:00 un apmetās pa nakti. Tētis arī bija tuvu.

11.jūlijs

July 11: a sunny day, Lady had an early start, after a long night with many stretches and shuffle breaks. Dad flew in for his first shift 6:44. Then another break for her between 8 and 9. She was calling from Ironbark roost with ravens around. As usual, Dad is quick off the eggs and Lady more reluctant, though at 9:48 she returned after 10 minutes and had to push him off. Both were then in and out during the day and brought nest materials. Just before 4pm Dad brought an eel in. Lady ate well then off again after 12 minutes. With a later shift, she was reluctant again to get off the eggs. She sat tight until he nudged her—up and then straight onto the eggs again. She finally backed off after 14 minutes and he sat. She was calling from close by. A very short shift as she returned quickly and pushed him off. She then settled for the night.

11. jūlijs: saulaina diena, lēdija sāka agri, pēc garas nakts ar daudzām stiepšanās un jaukšanas pauzēm. Tētis uz pirmo maiņu atlidoja 6:44. Tad viņai vēl viens pārtraukums no 8 līdz 9. Viņa zvanīja no Ironbark roost ar kraukļiem apkārt. Kā parasti, tētis ātri izvairās no olām, bet lēdija vairāk negribīgi, lai gan pulksten 9:48 viņa atgriezās pēc 10 minūtēm un nācās viņu atstumt. Abi tad bija iekšā un ārā pa dienu un nesa ligzdas materiālus. Īsi pirms pulksten 16:00 tētis ienesa zuti. Dāma labi paēda un pēc 12 minūtēm atkal izbeidzās. Ar vēlāku maiņu viņa atkal negribēja tikt nost no olām. Viņa cieši sēdēja, līdz viņš viņu pagrūda — uz augšu un tad atkal tieši uz olām. Viņa beidzot atkāpās pēc 14 minūtēm, un viņš apsēdās. Viņa zvanīja no tuvuma. Ļoti īsa maiņa, jo viņa ātri atgriezās un atgrūda viņu. Pēc tam viņa apmetās uz nakti.

July 12: Lady as usual sat all night, shifting and shuffling, then early morning duets. She had a break at 6:40, for over an hour. Her crop seemed to show she had eaten when away. During the morning there were several shift changes, around midday quite short shifts – of around 15 minutes or less. Lady returning after short breaks, but pushing him off then. Even with short breaks, she seems to have eaten, with a good crop seen. The short shifts continued in the afternoon, with at times the other bird calling in the distance. At around 4:30, she was sitting, but calling softly – hungry? Dad came in and settled for the night at dark – with Lady still there on the eggs. There were 18 shift changes on the eggs today –and the eggs uncovered for no longer than 2 minutes each time.

12. jūlijs: Dāma kā parasti visu nakti sēdēja, mainījās un jaucās, tad agri no rīta dueti. Viņai bija pārtraukums pulksten 6:40 vairāk nekā stundu. Šķita, ka viņas raža liecināja, ka viņa bija ēdusi, kad bija prom. No rīta bija vairākas maiņas, ap pusdienlaiku diezgan īsas maiņas – ap 15 minūtēm vai mazāk. Dāma atgriežas pēc īsiem pārtraukumiem, bet pēc tam viņu atgrūda. Pat ar īsiem pārtraukumiem šķiet, ka viņa ir paēdusi, redzot labu ražu. Īsās maiņas turpinājās arī pēcpusdienā, brīžiem tālumā saucot otrs putns. Ap 4:30 viņa sēdēja, bet klusi sauca – izsalcis? Ienāca tētis un apmetās pa nakti tumsā – ar lēdiju vēl turējās pie olām. Šodien uz olām notika 18 maiņas - un katru reizi olas tika atklātas ne ilgāk kā 2 minūtes.

July 13: another lovely day and the 16th day since the first egg was laid. An early duet and then Lady had a short break when Dad came in at 6:42. Later a couple of short breaks with Lady calling from Ironbark roost. Dad brought a spray of casuarina in at 8:02. Around 9am he came in for a change-over, Lady very reluctant to get up, even as he circled her. She was even a little slow rising when he brought a mullet at 11:11 – but then up and fed as Dad sat. The usual changes during the day. Late afternoon, Lady sitting, Dad was not seen at the river – fishing maybe? He returned 17:17 – empty-taloned. He moved nearby and both then settled for the night.

13. jūlijs: kārtējā burvīgā diena un 16. diena kopš pirmās olas izdēšanas. Agrs duets un pēc tam lēdijai bija neliels pārtraukums, kad tētis ienāca 6:42. Vēlāk pāris īsas pauzes ar Lady zvanu no Ironbark roost. Tētis ienesa kazuarīna aerosolu pulksten 8:02. Ap pulksten 9:00 viņš ienāca pārģērbties, lēdija ļoti nevēlējās piecelties, pat ja viņš viņai riņķoja. Viņa pat nedaudz lēni cēlās augšā, kad viņš pulksten 11:11 atnesa kefali, bet tad piecēlās un pabaroja, kamēr tētis sēdēja. Parastās izmaiņas dienas laikā. Vēlā pēcpusdienā, kundze sēž, tēti pie upes neredzēja – varbūt makšķerēja? Viņš atgriezās 17:17 – tukšs. Viņš pārcēlās tuvumā un abi pēc tam apmetās pa nakti.

July 14: a cold start with Lady stirring and muttering on the eggs early and a duet at 6:30. Dad came to the nest at 6:40 and even after a long night on the eggs, she was slow to back off and take a short break. She was back in 11 minutes and pushed him off the eggs straight away. Picture shows Dad waiting patiently for Lady to leave – but she sat again. She did have a long break in the middle of the day, when Dad sat for 2.5 hours. Lady was seen on Mangrove Island and when she returned, she appeared to have eaten. No food was brought to the nest today. She came in the early evening and both were settled at dark.

14. jūlijs: auksts rīts ar dāmu un olām un duets pulksten 6:30. Tētis ieradās ligzdā pulksten 6:40 un pat pēc garas nakts uz olām viņa lēni atkāpās un paņēma nelielu pārtraukumu. Viņa atgriezās pēc 11 minūtēm un uzreiz nogrūda viņu no olām. Attēlā redzams, ka tētis pacietīgi gaida, kad lēdija aizies, bet viņa atkal apsēdās. Viņai gan bija liela pauze dienas vidū, kad tētis sēdēja 2,5 stundas. Lēdija tika redzēta Mangrovju salā, un, kad viņa atgriezās, viņa, šķiet, ir paēdusi. Šodien ligzdai barība netika nesta. July 15: another long night for Lady, with brief shuffles then a short break when Dad came to the nest at 6:33. She was back after 13 minutes to sit again- for nearly an hour until he returned. A couple of changes, then he sat for ages from 10:29 for nearly 3 hours– she was out and about – somewhere. A windy afternoon, ruffling their feathers. Late afternoon Lady had a couple of short breaks – coming in at 5pm – and settling for the night Picture show Lady backing off in the morning as Dad approaches.

15. jūlijs: lēdijai vēl viena gara nakts ar īsiem satricinājumiem, pēc tam īsu pārtraukumu, kad tētis ieradās ligzdā pulksten 6:33. Viņa atgriezās pēc 13 minūtēm, lai atkal sēdētu — gandrīz stundu, līdz viņš atgriezās. Pāris izmaiņas, tad viņš no 10:29 sēdēja gandrīz 3 stundas – viņa bija ārā un apmēram kaut kur. Vējaina pēcpusdiena, putinot spalvas. Vēlā pēcpusdienā lēdijai bija pāris īsas pauzes — ierodas pulksten 17:00 — un iekārtojās uz nakti. Attēlu izrāde Dāma atkāpjas no rīta, tētim tuvojoties.

July 16: a sunny cold morning and Lady was off at 6:38 when Dad relieved her. A short break and she was back after 24 minutes. She sat for 1.5hours then had another short break before returning. Later in the day Dad had a similar long shift while Lady was away – at one stage seen from the river on Ironbark roost. Then he had a really short shift at dusk before she returned and settled for the night. However Lady has spent twice as long as he did on the eggs today – with the eggs only uncovered very briefly – quick changeovers. No prey brought in today.

16. jūlijs: saulains auksts rīts, un dāma bija prom pulksten 6:38, kad tētis viņu atviegloja. Īss pārtraukums, un viņa bija atpakaļ pēc 24 minūtēm. 17. jūlijs: pēc agra dueta no ligzdas dāmu neilgi pēc tam atbrīvoja tētis ar ilgu pārtraukumu, kas pārsniedza stundu, atšķirībā no vakardienas īsajiem agrīnajiem pārtraukumiem. Pēc tam viņa nosēdēja gandrīz stundu, līdz atkal ieradās tētis ar kazuarīna adatu aerosolu. Arī vēlāk kundze atkal ienesa lapas. Abi bija gan iekšā, gan ārā pa dienu, un lēdija šodien pie olām pavadīja apmēram stundu ilgāk nekā tētis. Viņa bija iekārtota naktī tumsā ar nelielu lietu. Atkal ligzdai barība netika atnesta, lai gan vērotāji domāja, ka viņa varētu būt paēdusi pie upes.

July 17: after an early duet from the nest, Lady was shortly after relieved by Dad, with a long break of well over an hour, unlike short early breaks yesterday. She then sat for nearly an hour until Dad came again, with a spray of casuarina needles. Lady brought leaves in again later as well. Both were in and out during the day and Lady spent about an hour longer than Dad on the eggs today. She was settled for the night at dark with a little rain about. Again no food was brought to the nest, though watchers thought she may have eaten down by the river.

July 18: a fine morning, with a long duet at first light. Dad relieved her at 6:34 for her break, after a long cold night. A very short break when she returned after 18 minutes. More changes during the day, with Dad spending slightly longer than Lady on the eggs today - He had 2 long shifts in the middle of the day – one over 2 hours. Again, the 2 eggs were only left uncovered very briefly. Still no prey brought to the nest. Lady was settled on the eggs at dark and Dad nearby.

18. jūlijs: jauks rīts, ar garu duetu pirmajā gaismā. 6:34 tētis viņu atbrīvoja no pārtraukuma pēc garas aukstas nakts. Ļoti īss pārtraukums, kad viņa atgriezās pēc 18 minūtēm. Dienas laikā vairāk izmaiņu, jo tētis šodien pie olām pavada nedaudz ilgāk nekā lēdija - viņam bija 2 garas maiņas dienas vidū – viena virs 2 stundām. Atkal, 2 olas tika atstātas neaizsegtas tikai ļoti īsu laiku. Joprojām ligzdā nav atnests laupījums. Dāma bija apmetusies uz olām tumsā un tētis netālu.

July 19: Lady as usual sat on the eggs all night, with regular short breaks to roll the eggs. Dad came to the nest early, but Lady just stood, rolled the eggs and sat again, so Dad left around 6:30. He started a duet, then was off for his break, with Lady still sitting. He returned just before 8am though, with leaves, and gave her a good break of an hour. Later he finally brought a fish to the nest at 11:16 – the first for several days – and Lady ate well. Both were in and out then for a turn at incubating. Lady was on the eggs from around 4pm and settled there at dark. She spent longer on the eggs today than Dad – over 7 hours.

19. jūlijs: Dāma, kā parasti, visu nakti sēdēja uz olām, ar regulāriem īsiem pārtraukumiem, lai ripinātu olas. Tētis pie ligzdas ieradās agri, bet lēdija tikai stāvēja, ripināja olas un atkal sēdēja, tāpēc tētis ap 6:30 aizgāja. Viņš sāka duetu, pēc tam devās pārtraukumā, lēdijai joprojām sēžot. Tomēr viņš atgriezās īsi pirms 8:00 ar lapām un deva viņai labu stundu pārtraukumu. Vēlāk viņš beidzot 11:16 atnesa ligzdā zivi – pirmo uz vairākām dienām – un lēdija labi paēda. Abi bija gan iekšā, gan ārā, pēc tam inkubējot. Lady bija uz olām no aptuveni 16:00 un apmetās tur tumsā. Viņa šodien pie olām pavadīja ilgāk nekā tētis – vairāk nekā 7 stundas.

July 20: Lady was up and down to stretch during the night, and not really disturbed by possums passing a few times. An early duet and Dad came in to give her a break at 6:33. She returned after only 17 minutes and then sat again for over 2 hours before he returned. A very windy morning at the nest. A short break, then she sat again for over 3 hours until Dad came back at 13:20 He had a full crop. He only sat a very short time and she came back for another long shift. Dad was seen at Ironbark roost – out of the wind? She had another short shift in the late afternoon and was seen on River roost , before returning just after 4:30, for the rest of the day. Today she spent over 9 hours on the nest – probably due to the strong wind. No prey was brought in. Picture shows Dad’s crop – he ate well earlier.

July 21: the wind has dropped in the morning and sun is shining. There was an early duet and Lady had a short break when Dad came around 6:30. She returned quickly though and then sat for well over another hour. He took over again at 8:18. She was heard calling nearby. From 10:22 Dad sat for well over 2 hours until she returned again. She did not appear to have eaten. Then she sat for a long time, all afternoon and in the late afternoon she was calling and complaining from the nest. Dad was not seen down on the river at 3:30- Where are you Dad?. She was looking quite dishevelled sitting there, with several feathers out of place, as the wind has picked up again. She was still sitting at dark – there for over 4 hours. He finally returned at dark just before 6pm. Then went to his night roost – no prey for Lady. She was on the eggs for almost 7.5 hour total today.

21. jūlijs: no rīta pierimis vējš un spīd saule. Bija agrs duets un lēdijai bija neliels pārtraukums, kad tētis ieradās ap 6:30. Tomēr viņa ātri atgriezās un tad sēdēja vēl vairāk nekā stundu. Viņš beidzot atgriezās tumsā īsi pirms pulksten 18. Pēc tam devās uz savu naktsmītni — lēdijai nekāds laupījums. Viņa šodien bija uz olām gandrīz 7,5 stundas.

July 22: visitors in the night, with possums passing and a rat on the nest. She took a short break when Dad came in at 6:27, but was only away for 21 minutes. She sat again for 48 minutes, then Dad returned and she was off again. Another shift change soon and Lady was on the eggs just after 8am, but calling softly – for ages. He finally returns – empty-taloned – and sits again. A few short shifts, then while Lady was away for nearly 2 hours, she was seen eating a fish away from the nest at Ironbark roost– assuming she caught it herself. Mid-afternoon, Dad left the eggs before Lady came back, after a long shift, though she must have been close as she came in very quickly and sat. Both have brought green leaves today. Lady then sat until dark, when dad came home at 17:40 and to his night roost. They have spent almost equal time on the eggs today. Picture show Lady urging Dad off the eggs.

22. jūlijs: ciemiņi naktī, ar opusumiem garām un žurku uz ligzdas. Viņa paņēma nelielu pārtraukumu, kad tētis ienāca pie 6:27, taču bija prom tikai 21 minūti. Viņa atkal sēdēja 48 minūtes, tad tētis atgriezās un viņa atkal bija prom. Vēl viena maiņa drīzumā, un Lady bija uz olām tikai pēc 8:00, bet klusi sauca - uz vecumu. Beidzot viņš atgriežas – tukšs – un atkal apsēžas. Dažas īsas maiņas, pēc tam, kamēr lēdija bija prom gandrīz 2 stundas, viņa tika redzēta ēdot zivi prom no ligzdas Ironbark roost — pieņemot, ka viņa pati to noķēra. July 23: a quiet night and an early duet. Dad came to the nest early at 630, but Lady was reluctant to leave. He circled her and hinted, but she sat tight, so he left at 6:35. She then sat for another 90 minutes, backing straight off when he returned at 8am. He gave her a good break then of over an hour, then both had a couple of short shifts. Both were heard calling off the nest at times too. She had a good break in the middle of the day of 2.5 hours and returned with a full crop and some leaves. She was on the eggs from just after 3pm until dark, when she was calling –wanting a break? Dad was nearby but not coming to the nest. She backed off the eggs at 5:30, a stretch, but then she sat again and was settled for the night. That long late shift meant she spent 7hours on the eggs today. No food was brought to the nest, though both brought sticks or leaves.

23. jūlijs: klusa nakts un agrs duets. Tētis ieradās ligzdā agri pulksten 630, bet lēdija nelabprāt devās prom. Viņš aplenca viņu un deva mājienus, bet viņa sēdēja cieši, tāpēc viņš devās prom 6:35. Pēc tam viņa sēdēja vēl 90 minūtes un uzreiz atkāpās, kad viņš atgriezās pulksten 8. Viņš deva viņai labu pārtraukumu, pēc tam vairāk nekā stundu, pēc tam abiem bija pāris īsas maiņas. Bija dzirdēts, ka abi reizēm arī izsauc ligzdu. Viņai bija labs pārtraukums dienas vidū, 2,5 stundas, un viņa atgriezās ar pilnu ražu un dažām lapām. uly 24: an early duet and Lady was up for a few minutes, then back to the eggs until Dad relieved her at 6:45. She was back after only 25 minutes and sitting again. Dad was seen down on river roost shortly after. She then sat for nearly 4 hours, until Dad returned, looking fed. After an hour she was back again to sit at 12:10. She was off again though 40 minutes later, and after a couple of minutes Dad came to the eggs. Another short shift then for both of them. Eggs have been alone for a couple of minutes three times today, though parent probably close. She was sitting form 16:20, though calling from the nest. Dad cam in shortly after 5pm, but did not relieve her. A quick shuffle and she was settled for the night. Lady spent over 8 hours on the eggs today.

24. jūlijs: agrs duets, un lēdija dažas minūtes bija nomodā, pēc tam atkal pie olām, līdz tētis 6:45 viņu atbrīvoja. Viņa atgriezās tikai pēc 25 minūtēm un atkal sēdēja. Drīz pēc tam tētis tika redzēts upes nakšņošanas vietā. Pēc tam viņa sēdēja gandrīz 4 stundas, līdz tētis atgriezās, izskatoties paēdis. Pēc stundas viņa atkal sēdēja pulksten 12:10. Viņa atkal bija prom, lai gan pēc 40 minūtēm, un pēc pāris minūtēm tētis ieradās pie olām. Vēl viena īsa maiņa tad abiem. Olas šodien trīs reizes ir bijušas vienatnē pāris minūtes, lai gan vecāki, iespējams, ir tuvu. Viņa sēdēja no 16:20, lai gan zvanīja no ligzdas. Tētis ieradās īsi pēc pulksten 17:00, taču viņu neatbrīvoja. Ātra sajaukšanās, un viņa bija nokārtota uz nakti. Dāma šodien pie olām pavadīja vairāk nekā 8 stundas.

July 25: a quiet night, with the usual breaks for shuffling and rolling eggs. An early duet and Dad came in to relieve her at 6:35 – staying for just over an hour. He began calling softly then left before Lady returned – she was close and was back to the eggs very quickly. She sat then for 90 minutes, began calling from the nest and left at 9:17. Dad was close and came in – the eggs only alone for a few minutes. He then sat for only 30 minutes as Lady approached, with a duet from the nest, then he was off again. The wind picked up during the morning. Lady then sat for nearly 3 hours, then away as Dad approached – no urging from him needed. She was only on the eggs a short while when she starting calling – Dad finally came in (no prey) and after a little while she left again. He sat then for 90 minutes and when she called from nearby, he joined in and then off. Eggs were uncovered a few minutes until she flew in at 16:05. 25. jūlijs: klusa nakts, ar parastajām pauzēm olu maisīšanai un ripināšanai. Agrs duets un tētis ienāca viņu atslogot pulksten 6:35 – palika nedaudz vairāk par stundu. Viņš sāka klusi zvanīt, tad aizgāja, pirms lēdija atgriezās — viņa bija tuvu un ļoti ātri atgriezās pie olām. Pēc tam viņa sēdēja 90 minūtes, sāka zvanīt no ligzdas un aizgāja pulksten 9:17. Tētis bija tuvu un ienāca – olas tikai dažas minūtes vienatnē. Pēc tam viņš sēdēja tikai 30 minūtes, kad lēdija tuvojās ar duetu no ligzdas, un tad viņš atkal bija izslēgts. No rīta vējš pieņēmās spēkā. Pēc tam kundze nosēdēja gandrīz 3 stundas, bet pēc tam aizgāja, kad tētis tuvojās — nekāda viņa mudināšana nebija vajadzīga. Viņa tikai īsu brīdi bija uz olām, kad sāka zvanīt – beidzot ienāca tētis (bez laupījuma) un pēc brīža atkal aizgāja. Pēc tam viņš sēdēja 90 minūtes, un, kad viņa piezvanīja no tuvumā, viņš pievienojās un pēc tam izslēdza. Olas tika atklātas dažas minūtes, līdz viņa ielidoja pulksten 16:05. Pēc tam viņa visu atlikušo vakaru bija uz olām un apmetās uz nakti. Nav atvests laupījums, un lēdija šodien kopumā sēdēja 7 stundas 23 minūtes.

July 26: Some rain overnight, then fine for early morning duets and Lady was off at 6:36. Dad in shortly after, then sat for an hour and 25 minutes –a good early break for her. He left then, as she was close and returned to sit. A couple more changes and around midday she appeared with a good crop – caught her own prey it seems. Then she spent the afternoon on the nest – for nearly 3 hours – until Dad bought in a late fish. She grabbed it and took it to the branch to eat. The eggs were uncovered for some time as she ate, then dad sat for a short while until she finished eating. She then settled for the night. Today she spent 6h27m on the eggs and he 5h7m.

26. jūlijs: naktī nedaudz lietus, pēc tam piemērots agriem rīta duetiem, un Lady tika izslēgts 6:36. Tētis īsi pēc tam ienāca, tad sēdēja stundu un 25 minūtes — viņai labs agrs pārtraukums. Pēc tam viņš aizgāja, jo viņa bija tuvu, un atgriezās sēdēt. Vēl pāris izmaiņas un ap pusdienlaiku viņa parādījās ar labu ražu – šķiet, noķēra pati savu laupījumu. Pēc tam viņa pavadīja pēcpusdienu ligzdā — gandrīz 3 stundas, līdz tētis nopirka vēlu zivi. Viņa to paķēra un aiznesa uz zaru ēst. Viņai ēdot, olas kādu laiku bija atsegtas, tad tētis īsu brīdi sēdēja, līdz viņa pabeidza ēst. Pēc tam viņa apmetās uz nakti. Šodien viņa uz olām pavadīja 6h27m un viņš 5h7m.

July 27: a wet morning. Early duets and Dad was in to give Lady a break around 6:30. She was only gone a short while, then back to the eggs for around 3 hours – in the rain. There were a couple more changes and the weather cleared up. Lady was seen from the river at Ironbark roost at 13:40, then she came in with leaves at 14:47 to take over again. Later Dad was seen down on the river, taking some prey to Mangrove Island, with a gull escort. Nothing brought for Lady though. At dark she was still there on the eggs. Dad came in for the night at 17:38 . She spent 9 hours on the eggs today – far longer than Dad.

27. jūlijs: drēgns rīts. Agrīnie dueti un tētis gatavojās dot lēdijai pārtraukumu ap pulksten 6:30. Viņa bija prom tikai īsu brīdi, tad atgriezās pie olām apmēram 3 stundas – lietū. Bija vēl pāris izmaiņas un laiks skaidrojās. Dāma tika redzēta no upes Ironbark roost pulksten 13:40, tad viņa ieradās ar lapām pulksten 14:47, lai atkal pārņemtu. Vēlāk tētis tika manīts lejā uz upes, vedot kādu laupījumu uz Mangrovju salu ar kaijas pavadību. Lai gan lēdijai nekas netika atnests. Tumsā viņa joprojām atradās uz olām. Tētis ienāca naktī 17:38 . Viņa šodien pie olām pavadīja 9 stundas — daudz ilgāk nekā tētis.

July 28: a fine morning, and an early duet at 6:23. Dad came to the nest at 6:36, but Lady stayed on the eggs, so Dad flew off. Lady went back to sleep, head tucked under her wing. Dad finally came back at 8:10 and even then Lady was a little slow to back off the eggs. He sat for just under an hour until Lady returned and sat again. The wind picked up during the day. They both then had a long shift, but Lady was on the eggs in the afternoon from just after 1pm for 3h40m until Dad came in to give her a break for 41 minutes. She then was home from 17:26 and settled for the night. No prey was brought to the nest, and Dad at least seems to have fed out there. Lady spent a total of 8h22m on their eggs today – a big effort.

28. jūlijs: jauks rīts un agrs duets pulksten 6:23. Tētis ieradās ligzdā 6:36, bet lēdija palika uz olām, tāpēc tētis aizlidoja. Lēdija atkal aizmiga, pabāzusi galvu zem spārna. Tētis beidzot atgriezās pulksten 8:10, un pat tad lēdija nedaudz lēni atkāpās no olām. Viņš nosēdēja nepilnu stundu, līdz lēdija atgriezās un atkal apsēdās. Dienā vējš pieņēmās spēkā. Pēc tam viņiem abiem bija gara maiņa, bet lēdija pēcpusdienā no pulksten 13:00 3:40 minūtē iegriezās, līdz ienāca tētis, lai dotu viņai pārtraukumu uz 41 minūti. Pēc tam viņa bija mājās no pulksten 17:26 un apmetās pa nakti. Neviens laupījums ligzdā netika atnests, un tētis, šķiet, vismaz ir paēdis tur. Dāma šodien pie olām kopā pavadīja 8h22m – lielas pūles.

July 29: a cold but fine morning. A couple of early duets then Dad came to the nest at 6:32. Lady was only away for a short break until she returned after only 33 minutes. Lady then sat for 2h40m until finally Dad returned, with some leaves and she was off. The wind picked up again then. Finally she came back, after Dad had spent even longer alone on the eggs – 3.5h. Then Lady sat for a long period just over 2.5 hours, with a short break when the eggs were alone on the nest for a couple of minutes. Dad was in just after 4pm to sit again. Lady was seen over in Homebush Bay, causing havoc among the gulls there. She returned at 5pm and settled for the evening shift. No prey was brought to the nest.

29. jūlijs: auksts, bet jauks rīts. Pāris agri dueti, tad tētis pienāca ligzdā 6:32. Dāma bija prom tikai uz īsu pārtraukumu, līdz atgriezās tikai pēc 33 minūtēm. Pēc tam kundze sēdēja 2h40m, līdz beidzot tētis atgriezās ar dažām lapām un viņa bija prom. Toreiz vējš atkal pieņēmās spēkā. Beidzot viņa atgriezās pēc tam, kad tētis vēl ilgāk bija pavadījis vienatnē uz olām – 3,5h. Tad lēdija nosēdēja ilgu laiku, nedaudz vairāk par 2,5 stundām, ar nelielu pārtraukumu, kad olas pāris minūtes atradās ligzdā vienas. Tētis bija tikai pēc pulksten 16:00, lai atkal sēdētu. Lēdija tika redzēta Hombušas līcī, izraisot postījumus tur esošajās kaijās. Viņa atgriezās pulksten 17:00 un iekārtojās vakara maiņā. Neviens laupījums ligzdā netika atnests.
