LGL mazliet pastāv pie TFT. Viņa nav apmierināta, ka pašas mazulis apvainojās un kaimiņu mazulis čīkst.

Baro atkal un šoreiz tas ir milzīgs barības gabals.
Izskatās, ka mazais to paņem.

Kia ora koutou (hello everyone)
19th June 2024 is World Albatross Day
GPS tracking of LGK, LGL and their Royalcam chick Tiaki during 2021. The family covered a huge area around Aotearoa/New Zealand while being tracked.
Check out this article for albatross that move to a new breeding location. https://naturalsciencenews....
Of course, the original population at Pukekura/Taiaroa Head were all immigrants from the Rēkohu/Chatham Island populations so setting up a new breeding location is not unheard of.
Since the 1930’s over 1000 toroa eggs have been laid and over 600 chicks have fledged. From small beginnings big change can happen.
Weighing News (from 10.13am):Top Flat chick is 147 days old and weighs 9.2 kg.
LGK and LGL had arrived together on Sunday 16th June.
Top Flat Track chick is 139 days old and weighs 9.8 kg.
The heaviest chick today is Observation Post chick at 10.8kg.
This week is also National Volunteer Week.We would like to give a big shout out to the tireless Royal Albatross Centre staff for coming out to help us supplementary feed any hungry toroa chick.
This season we currently have one chick who is being supplementary fed 5 days a week as he appears to be missing both parents. A second pair of hands is critical in keeping a chick like this well fed.
