December 13: early morning both adults were seen at River Roost and SE31 was seen going into the mangroves and heard calling. Then again at 7:45 SE31 was heard but not seen. Then at last just after 9am, adult was seen catching a large fish – grabbing it with one foot – in front of River roost. SE31 flew out to claim it with loud squeezing, then all 3 were out of sight in the mangroves. No further observations during the day

13. decembris: agrā rītā abi pieaugušie tika redzēti River Roost un SE31 tika redzēts ieejam mangrovju audzēs un dzirdēja saucienu. Tad atkal 7:45 SE31 bija dzirdams, bet neredzēts. Beidzot īsi pēc pulksten 9 no rīta tika manīts pieaugušais ķeram lielu zivi – satverot to ar vienu kāju – upes nakšņošanas vietas priekšā. SE31 izlidoja, lai to pieprasītu ar skaļu spiešanu, tad visi 3 mangrovju audzēs nebija redzami. Dienas laikā vairāk novērojumu nav.

14.decembris

December 14: early morning SE31 was spotted at Mangrove Island – then moving to River roost. This seems to be her home patch now, moving back and forth and sheltering in the mangroves lining the river. It has been a really hot day again. We have no more observations for today – hopefully keeping as cool as they can by the river.

14. decembris: agrā rītā SE31 tika pamanīts Mangrove salā, pēc tam pārcēlās uz River roost. Šķiet, ka tas tagad ir viņas mājas , kad pārvietojas uz priekšu un atpakaļ un patveras mangrovju audzēs, kas klāj upi. Atkal bijusi tiešām karsta diena. Šodien vairs nav novērojumu – cerams, ka pie upes saglabāsies pēc iespējas vēsāks.

15.decembris

December 15: early morning report at 7:30 of SE31 and one adult at the water’s edge at River Roost, then joined by the other adult. Then at around 9:20 SE31 was seen flying over the wetlands, venturing further and flying right up high, before returning to River roost – feeling its wings for sure. Around 4pm in the afternoon SE31 was seen at river roost, parent arrived, then shortly after she flew to Mangrove Island. Later she was seen flying high again, before returning to River roost mudflats.

15. decembris: agrā rīta ziņojums pulksten 7:30 no SE31 un viens pieaugušais pie River Roost ūdens malas, pēc tam pievienojās otrs pieaugušais. Pēc tam ap plkst. 9:20 SE31 tika redzēts pārlidojam pāri mitrājiem, dodoties tālāk un lidojam tieši uz augšu, pirms atgriežoties River roost – noteikti sajūtot savus spārnus. Ap pulksten 16:00 pēcpusdienā SE31 tika redzēts upes apmešanās vietā, ieradās vecāks, pēc tam neilgi pēc tam viņa lidoja uz Mangrove salu. Vēlāk viņa atkal tika redzēta augstu lidojam, pirms atgriezās upes nakšņošanas dubļu līdzenumo.

16.decembris

December 16: early morning, both adults were at River Roost, though Dad flew to Mangrove Island shortly after and SE31 appeared to sit by Lady. Then all were at Mangrove Island, with SE31 squealing - for food? She was also seen down on the waterline, with mullet jumping nearby. Around 9:30 parents were back at RR, with SE31 flitting about on the island. And then at 9:38, fish was caught and SE31 ate –first feed we have observed today. Later in the afternoon at 5:15 SE31 was in the air, flying over the river and the bay, before coming in to land beside the parent there. 16. decembris: agri no rīta abi pieaugušie atradās River Roost, lai gan tētis neilgi pēc tam lidoja uz Mangrove salu, un SE31, šķiet, sēdēja pie Lady. Tad visi bija Mangrovju salā, SE31 čīkstot - pēc ēdiena? Viņa tika redzēta arī uz ūdenslīnijas, netālu lecot kefalei. Ap 9:30 vecāki atgriezās RR, un SE31 lidoja pa salu. Un tad 9:38 tika noķerta zivs un SE31 ēda – pirmā barība, ko šodien novērojām. Vēlāk pēcpusdienā pulksten 17:15 SE31 bija gaisā, lidojot pāri upei un līcim, pirms ielidoja, lai nosēstos blakus tur esošajam vecākam. 17.decembris

December 17: a cooler start to the day and both parents were on Mangrove Island at 7:30. SE31 flew in shortly after to join them – begging loudly. She then was seen flying from perch to perch and over the bay – even swooping low over a group of pelicans – snapping their beaks at her. Parent brought in a fish around 10:30, which was shared with SE31. The other eagle was seen chasing off the ospreys to the transmission tower. Then one eagle and the juvenile were flying in circles overhead. (thanks for great photos Chang-Le) Parents were later reported at Burns Bay from 12:40. As I arrived by the river at 3:15, SE31 was soaring overheard, moving over the river banks between River roost and the island, and upriver a little way. She was soaring high, with the wind under her wings – a joy to see. Then she went out of sight in the bay behind the island – in the mangroves somewhere maybe.

17. decembris: vēsāks dienas sākums, un abi vecāki bija Mangrovju salā pulksten 7:30. SE31 ielidoja neilgi pēc tam, lai pievienotos viņiem, skaļi lūdzot. Pēc tam viņa tika redzēta lidojam pāri līcim – pat zemu pārsviedamies pāri pelikānu grupai – ar knābi pret viņu. Vecāki ap 10:30 atveda zivi, kas tika dalīta ar SE31. Otrs ērglis bija redzams dzenam zivjērgļus uz pārraides torni. Tad viens ērglis un mazulis lidoja apļos virs galvas. (paldies par lieliskajām fotogrāfijām Chang-Le) Par vecākiem vēlāk tika ziņots Bērnsbejā no pulksten 12:40. Kad es ierados pie upes 15:15, SE31 bija noklausītas, virzoties pāri upes krastiem starp River roost un salu un nedaudz augšup pa upi. Viņa pacēlās augstu, ar vēju zem spārniem – prieks redzēt. Tad viņa pazuda no redzesloka līcī aiz salas – varbūt kaut kur mangrovēs.

Sunday 17 December at 10:26am, one of the parents went out and caught a fish back. One chased off 2 ospreys to the transmission tower. This time, SE31 didn't get the full fish, he shared with the parent. After the breakfast, SE31 went flying circles above the mangrove tree islands. One parent stayed with him the whole time, the other one left shortly after the breakfast, and was nowhere to be seen when I left at about 11:50am.

December 18: early morning at 7am, all 3 were down on the river. SE31 was flying up and down the home stretch and begging at times. We could hear her squeeing. At 9:20, Lady flew off RR and caught a nice bream, watched by SE31 and delivered fresh to the island mudflats. SE31 was quick to claim it and then eat, with both parents nearby. No more observations from today

18. decembris: agrā rītā pulksten 7:00 visi 3 atradās upē. SE31 lidoja augšup un lejup pa mājas posmu un reizēm ubagoja. Mēs varējām dzirdēt viņas spiedzienu. 9:20 lēdija izlidoja no RR un noķēra jauku breksi, ko noskatījās SE31 un nogādāja svaigā veidā uz salas dubļiem. SE31 ātri to pieprasīja un pēc tam paēda, un abi vecāki bija tuvumā. No šodienas novērojumu vairs nav.

December 19: 7:15 SE31 was at Juvie roost with one parent nearby. Some flying up and down and around 9am 31 was back in sight, with no food begging heard. There is a lot of construction noise from the area behind the mangroves. Later in the afternoon SE31 was seen near juvie roost with one parent nearby. The young one was seen looking intently into the water, but no action. There is a lot of smoke haze today.

19. decembris: 7:15 SE31 atradās Juvie roost ar vienu vecāku tuvumā. Daži lidoja augšā un lejā un ap plkst. 9:00 31 atkal bija redzami, bez ēdiena lūgšanas. No teritorijas aiz mangrovju audzēm ir liels būvniecības troksnis. Vēlāk pēcpusdienā SE31 tika novērots netālu no mazuļu nakšņošanas vietas ar vienu vecāku. Jaunais bija manīts, ka viņš vērīgi skatījās ūdenī, bet nekādas darbības. Šodien ir daudz dūmu.

20.decembris
December 20: early observer reported adult and SE31 flying up and down between usual roosts, with SE31 squeeing. Then at 7:55 Lady was reported eating on Mangrove Island, then flew to River roost where SE31 appeared still squeeing– however then watched the adult eating, but made no attempt to take any of the prey herself. A rainy day today – a cool relief from previous hot days. No more observations at this atage.

20. decembris: agrīnais novērotājs ziņoja, ka pieaugušais un SE31 lido augšup un lejup starp parastajām nakšņošanas vietām. Pēc tam pulksten 7:55 tika ziņots, ka lēdija ēd Mangrovu salā, pēc tam aizlidoja uz River roost, kur SE31, šķiet, joprojām spiedza, tomēr pēc tam vēroja, kā pieaugušais ēd, bet pati nemēģināja paņemt kādu no laupījuma. Šodien lietaina diena – vēss atvieglojums no iepriekšējām karstajām dienām. Šajā vecumā vairs nav novērojumu.

21.decembris

December 21: a cooler start to the day and more rain. At 7am, SE31 was on the island and both adults on River roost. A little later juvenile was seen flying from behind the island to land on the other side, then going into the mangroves. Adult was seen with fish in the morning and then again at 2:28. Juvenile possibly took the fish, but was hidden in mangroves behind River Roost. Wind was strong today at times, affecting their flight. At times.

21. decembris: vēsāks dienas sākums un vairāk lietus. 7:00 SE31 atradās uz salas un abi pieaugušie atradās River roost. Nedaudz vēlāk mazulis tika manīts lidojam no salas aizmugures, lai nosēstos otrā pusē, pēc tam ieejot mangrovju audzēs. Pieaugušais tika redzēts ar zivīm no rīta un pēc tam atkal pulksten 14:28. Nepilngadīgais, iespējams, paņēma zivis, bet bija paslēpts mangrovju audzēs aiz Roostas upes. Šodien brīžiem bija stiprs vējš, kas ietekmēja viņu lidojumu. Dažreiz.

December 22: a fine day again. Early morning, SE31 was flying back and forth, then at 7:07 our observer saw her catch a fish. She flew to a branch with it, but may have dropped it on landing as she was seen empty-taloned nearby shortly after. 2 ospreys were seen circling over the boat ramp nearby around 8am. One of the adults flew in with prey at 8:31 with the ospreys following. Prey was delivered to our juvenile and both disappeared into the mangroves. SE31 was then seen eating on the ground at Mangrove Island. No further reports during the day, though both adults were seen at Goat Island both with a fish. Our juvenile was seen on her home patch, flying over the bay, her usual roost places then off over the wetlands towards Homebush Bay it seems. A day of firsts. 22. decembris: atkal jauka diena. Agrā rītā SE31 lidoja šurpu turpu, tad pulksten 7:07 mūsu novērotājs ieraudzīja, ka viņa noķer zivi. Viņa ar to aizlidoja uz zaru, taču, iespējams, tā nokrita piezemēšanās laikā, jo īsi pēc tam tika redzēta tukšā. Ap plkst. 8 no rīta tika manīti 2 zivjērgļi, kas riņķoja virs laivas rampas. Viens no pieaugušajiem kopā ar medījumu ielidoja pulksten 8:31, zivjērgļiem sekojot. Medījums tika nogādāts mūsu mazulim, un abi pazuda mangrovju audzēs. Pēc tam SE31 tika manīts ēdam uz zemes Mangrovu salā. Dienas laikā vairs nav ziņu, lai gan abi pieaugušie tika redzēti Kazu salā, abi kopā ar zivīm. Mūsu mazulīte tika redzēta savā mājas ielā, lidojam pāri līcim, parastajām nakšņošanas vietām, tad pāri mitrājiem uz Homebush Bay, šķiet. Tad viņa atkal parādījās pāri upei un dienas beigās atradās mangrovju audzēs. Viņu ielāpa saulrieta fotoattēls no vakardienas.

23.decembris

December 23: early just after 7am, adult brought bird prey SE31 flew from the island to River Roost to claim it. Then shortly after the adult caught a fish nearby, which it ate itself. Later in the afternoon, our juvenile was seen flying around the island and river shore, then out of view behind the island. Parents were out of sight as well. SE31 is flying strongly around her home patch

23. decembris: agri pēc pulksten 7:00 pieaugušais atnesis putnu upuri SE31 lidoja no salas uz Roostas upi, lai to atgūtu. Tad neilgi pēc tam pieaugušais netālu noķēris zivi, ko apēda pats. Vēlāk pēcpusdienā mūsu nepilngadīgais tika redzēts lidojam pa salu un upes krastu, pēc tam ārpus salas. Arī vecāki nebija redzami. SE31 spēcīgi lido ap savu mājas vietu.

24.decembris

December 24: 6:45 SE31 flew from River Roost to the island, no adults were seen by the river and around 8:40 both were reported at Goat Island area. Juvenile was seen flying along her patch of the river. Then at 845 she was seen with a fish, though our team missed the catch.. She was seen with it on a branch. She dropped it though- a small catch, but hers it seems. Later rain started by the river, so she is sheltering- our observers too. Later, the rain had stopped and all 3 were on the usual stretch of river. And we found that SE31 in fact caught a stick this morning – all practice. Picture is from yesterday.

24. decembris: 6:45 SE31 lidoja no River Roost uz salu, neviens pieaugušais pie upes netika manīts, un ap plkst. 8:40 abi tika ziņots Goat Island rajonā. Nepilngadīgā tika manīta lidojam gar savu upes pleķīti. Tad pie 8:45 viņa tika redzēta ar zivi, lai gan mūsu komanda nokavēja lomu. Viņa tika redzēta ar to uz zara. Viņa tomēr to nometa- mazs loms, bet šķiet, ka viņa. Vēlāk pie upes sākās lietus, tāpēc viņa patvērās - arī mūsu novērotāji. Vēlāk lietus bija mitējies un visi 3 atradās parastajā upes posmā. Un mēs noskaidrojām, ka SE31 šorīt patiešām noķēra nūju — visa prakse. Bilde ir no vakardienas.

25.decembris

December 25: early all 3 were down on the river and SE31 was eating a fish. Around 7am parents were duettng and juvenile squeeing “Happy Christmas “. Again after 8am when she had finished eating, another chorus. Then she seemed to stay out of sight with no more views. Late in the afternoon at 5:30 the storm was approaching and only one adult to be seen. There was a great sighting of the critically endangered Eastern Curlew earlier, flying over the wetlands.

25. decembris: agri visi 3 bija lejā upē un SE31 ēda zivi. Ap plkst.7 vecāki duetēja un nepilngadīgie čīkstēja "Priecīgus Ziemassvētkus ". Atkal pēc 8:00, kad viņa bija beigusi ēst, cits koris. Tad viņa, šķiet, palika ārpus redzesloka bez vairs skatiem. Vēlā pēcpusdienā pulksten 17.30 tuvojās vētra un bija redzams tikai viens pieaugušais. Bija liels novērojums par kritiski apdraudēto Austrumkurzemi agrāk, lidojot pāri mitrājiem.

December 26: one adult seen early, down on River Roost and one reported at Goat island. Juvenile seen on the island at 9am. Later one adult and juvenile were at River Roost , not known if she had eaten. River traffic was busy on this public holiday. Later in the day both parents were seen at Burns Bay. In the evening? No late reports.

26. decembris: viens pieaugušais redzēts agri Roost upē un viens pieaudzis Goat salā. 9:00 uz salas redzēts nepilngadīgais. Vēlāk viens pieaugušais un nepilngadīgais atradās River Roost, nezinot, vai viņa bija ēdusi. Upes satiksme šajā svētku dienā bija intensīva. Vēlāk dienas laikā abi vecāki tika redzēti Bērnsbejā. 27.decembris

December 27: early morning juvenile was behind River Roost. Are adults still at Burns Bay? Then SE31 was seen carrying a small fish at 8am, eating on a branch then dropping it in the river. Around 9:30 both Eagles were reported at Goat Island area. SE31 was seen trying again to catch something. She continued to fly between her normal river places during the morning and possibly had a feed , eating hidden in the mangroves . There was a heavy storm with thunder and rain for a short time after 2pm. Later in the afternoon one adult and juvenile were on the island, with SE31 whining and following the adult, begging for food. Late afternoon, weather has cleared and no further observations.

27. decembris: agri no rīta nepilngadīgais atradās aiz River Roost. Vai pieaugušie joprojām atrodas Burns Bay? Pēc tam SE31 tika novērots, kad pulksten 8:00 no rīta nesa mazu zivtiņu, ēda uz zara un nometa to upē. Ap pulksten 9:30 tika ziņots par abiem ērgļiem Kazu salas teritorijā. Tika redzēts, ka SE31 atkal mēģināja kaut ko noķert. No rīta viņa turpināja lidot starp savām parastajām upes vietām un, iespējams, barojās, ēdot paslēptu mangrovju audzēs. Pēc plkst.14:00 neilgu laiku bija spēcīga vētra ar pērkonu un lietu. Vēlāk pēcpusdienā uz salas atradās viens pieaugušais un nepilngadīgais, un SE31 vaimanāja un sekoja pieaugušajam, ubagojot ēdienu. Vēlā pēcpusdienā laiks skaidrojās un vairs nav novērojumu.

28.decembris

December 28: river is murky after yesterday’s storm. Juvenile was seen early with one adult and then seen trying to catch something. She is practicing her hunting skills – but still begging from the parents. Around 8:30 was seen to catch something, taking it into the mangroves. Then again catching what looked like a piece of foam. Sadly lots of floating rubbish after storm and she is catching sicks as well – all learning skills. Later I the afternoon one adult was seen at Goat Island and one with the juvenile – at River roost. Osprey was seen in the area earlier, but no conflict between our raptors. Picture is by Chang-Le taken yesterday.

28. decembris: upe ir duļķaina pēc vakardienas vētras. Nepilngadīgais agri redzēts kopā ar vienu pieaugušo un pēc tam redzēts, cenšoties kaut ko noķert. Viņa praktizē savas medību prasmes, bet joprojām lūdz vecākus. Ap 8:30 tika manīts kaut ko noķerot, ienesot mangrovju audzēs. Tad atkal ķerot to, kas izskatījās pēc putuplasta gabala. Diemžēl pēc vētras ir daudz peldošu atkritumu, un viņa arī slimo – visas mācīšanās prasmes. Vēlāk pēcpusdienā viens pieaugušais tika redzēts Kazu salā un viens ar mazuli – River roost. Zivju ērglis šajā apgabalā tika manīts agrāk, taču starp mūsu plēsējiem nebija konflikta. Attēls ir Čans-Le uzņemts vakar.

29.decembris

December 29 : there was a late report of a bird prey delivery last evening, with our juvenile eating well. Early morning one adult was seen at juvenile Roost and SE31 was heard from in the mangroves. When she came out around 745 and landed beside the adult, it moved off . One adult and juvenile was seen at times during the day, moving from roost to roost. Around 3:00 both adults were at Goat Island. Our observer watched a massive great fish swimming along as well. So many wildlife observations . Later in the evening, SE31 was seen on Mangrove Island, and heard whining. She still wants a handout.

29. decembris: pagājušajā vakarā tika saņemts novēlots ziņojums par putnu laupījumu, kad mūsu mazulis ēd labi. Agrā rītā viens pieaugušais tika redzēts nepilngadīgajā Roostā, un mangrovju audzēs tika dzirdēts no SE31. Kad viņa iznāca ap 745 un nolaidās blakus pieaugušajam, tā pacēlās. Dienas laikā brīžiem redzēts viens pieaugušais un nepilngadīgais, kurš pārvietojās no riesta uz riestu. Ap pulksten 3:00 abi pieaugušie atradās Kazu salā. Mūsu novērotājs vēroja, kā līdzi peldēja arī milzīga zivs. Tik daudz savvaļas dzīvnieku novērojumu. Vēlāk vakarā SE31 tika redzēts Mangrove salā un dzirdēts vaimanas. Viņa joprojām vēlas izdales materiālu.

30.decembris

December 30: early morning our first observers saw no Eagles, then a little later around 8am SE31 appeared, flew around the area then back to River Roost. Then at 920 both parents arrived, Lady with a fish for the excited young one. SE31 took some time to eat, with Lady close by. Dad came closer later, with a duet at 948. Several sightings during the day along the river. In the evening, our observer couldn’t see the eagles, but it was thrilling to see the endangered Eastern Curlew again, feeding on the mudflats..

30. decembris: agrā rītā mūsu pirmie novērotāji neredzēja ērgļus, tad nedaudz vēlāk ap pulksten 8:00 parādījās SE31, aplidoja apkārtni un pēc tam atpakaļ uz River Roost. Tad pulksten 9:20 ieradās abi vecāki, Lēdija ar zivi satrauktajam jaunietim. SE31 bija vajadzīgs laiks, lai paēstu, un Lady bija tuvu. Tētis nāca tuvāk vēlāk, ar duetu pie 9:48. Vairāki novērojumi dienas laikā gar upi. Vakarā mūsu novērotājs nevarēja redzēt ērgļus, taču bija saviļņojoši atkal redzēt apdraudēto austrumu čokurošanos, kas barojas dubļu līdzenumos.
