June 29 evening - home after a very long day. 3 of our team went into the forest late this morning to check on Dad. As stated earlier, it appeared he had an injured leg and seemed weak. He fell twice from his perch. We wanted to check if he was injured on the ground. We were very pleased to see him fly from high on a branch and then circle with Lady, both calling. Later, as recorded already, he returned twice to the nest and took his incubation shifts. I found gull feathers on the ground under IR tree - and feel that one of the eagles fed on at least one gull there - not observed on camera. We did not go near the nest tree, as required by our Licence Agreement.
Now we can only watch and hope he gets stronger and returns to his normal duties, bringing prey and incubating.
29. jūnija vakars - mājās pēc ļoti garas dienas. 3 no mūsu komandas šorīt vēlu devās mežā, lai pārbaudītu Papiņu. Kā jau iepriekš tika norādīts, viņam bija savainota kāja un viņš šķita vājš. Viņš divreiz nokrita no asara. Gribējām pārbaudīt, vai viņš nav ievainots uz zemes. Mums bija liels prieks redzēt, kā viņš lido no augšas uz zara un pēc tam riņķo ar dāmu, abi sazvanoties. Vēlāk, kā jau ierakstīts, viņš divas reizes atgriezās ligzdā un uzņēmās inkubācijas maiņas. Atradu zemē zem IR koka kaijas spalvas - un jūtu, ka viens no ērgļiem tur barojies vismaz ar vienu kaiju - kamerā nav novērots. Mēs negājām tuvumā ligzdas kokam, kā to pieprasa mūsu licences līgums.
Tagad mēs varam tikai skatīties un cerēt, ka viņš kļūs stiprāks un atgriezīsies pie ierastajiem pienākumiem, nesot medījumu un inkubējot.
