Eaglet is 47 days old
Parent made a prey delivery that the eaglet took and ate. Afterwards young eaglet fed the Hawklet some of it. Then a parent flew back in and fed some more to the hawklet
*The hawlet was seen with a healthy PS so it is getting fed good.
Nest location on Gabriola Island, British Columbia Canada near Vancouver Island.
2022 Season INFO:
* 06 04 22 One of the eagle parents brought in a baby Hawklet as food and then the eagle's motherly instinct kicked in and now seems to raise it as an eaglet keeping it feed a long with their one eaglet. Parents are feeding it and the one eaglet has been seen feeding the Hawklet as well.. Seems the eaglet has accepted it as a sibling.
2 Eggs were laid * 1st egg was laid 03 15 22
* 1st eaglet hatched 04 23 22.
* 2nd egg laid date thought to be on laid on the 17th or the 18th. *
2nd eaglet hatched 04 25 22. *
*There were 2 Eaglets but the youngest eaglet passed away from the lack of food and the aggressiveness from the older and much bigger eaglet.
*So far there seems to be harmony in the nest with this hawklet.

2022. gada sezonas INFORMĀCIJA:
* 06 04 22 Viens no ērgļu vecākiem par barību ienesa vanagu mazuli, un tad ērgļa mātes instinkts aktivizējās, un tagad šķiet, ka viņš to audzina un baro kā savu ērgli. Vecāki to baro, un viens ērglis ir redzēts barojam arī Vanagu. Šķiet, ka ērglis to ir pieņēmis kā brāli un māsu.
2 olas tika izdētas * 1. ola tika izdēta 03 15 22
* 04 23 22 izšķīlās 1. ērgļu mazulis.
* Domājams, ka 2. olu dēšanas datums ir 17. vai 18. datums. *
2. ērgļu mazulis izšķīlās 04 25 22. *
*Bija 2 ērgļi, bet jaunākais ērglis aizgāja bojā no barības trūkuma un agresivitātes no vecākā un daudz lielākā ērgļa.
*Pagaidām šķiet, ka ligzdā valda harmonija ar šo vanagu.
