Why do such events happen during the breeding season?
There may be about half a hundred nesting pairs of black storks in Estonia (some are simply not found). The population is not strong and birds die during migration and also in nesting areas. Returning black storks can't find a partner, as we've seen on webcam.
Black storks with a hidden lifestyle do not tolerate disturbing during breeding time - whatever it is and sometimes the nest is abandoned. A few days ago, a lone black stork repeatedly tried to land in the Karula nest which is equipped with a webcam.

The intruder has a brownish plumage which could imply, but not nescessarily, to a younger bird. There are lots of assumptions...
