Harriet & M15 Eagle Lover's Group

Update: 7:38pm Both E19 and E20 are back up in the nest! See posts from our Administrator Rachel Freeman!
Hello Everyone! What an exciting day at the nest, and with the cams down no less.

The important thing is to remember that the welfare of our eagles come first. Both E19 and E20 are doing great and our parents have experience with this sort of thing as it happens often during fledge time. The eaglet's are not harmed and will be watched over and cared for in their current surroundings. M15 and Harriet are pros and have this under control, they always do, have faith in them!
E19 fledged this morning at 11:57am and after investigating things on the ground around the pasture and pond, flew to a tree behind the church. Congratulations E19!
E20, to be clear, has not fledged. E20 fell from the nest and landed in branches below the nest and never left the nest tree. E20 is perfectly fine and certainly not the first eaglet to be rambunctious and go over the edge and land in lower branches at this stage in the season.
There were photographers on the ground when these events occurred, as well as SWFL Eagle Cam Administration that kept us updated at all times. Hopefully later this evening they will post videos and pictures for us since the cams are still down.
To ease your worry, this happens about 50% of the time when fledging, and is very normal. Our little darlings are doing just fine!

Thank you to our Administrator Rachel Freeman for keeping us in the loop when all this was happening!
Take a deep breath Eagle Friends, there are no worries at all!

❤
Note: There is no official word at this time how long the cameras will remain offline.
