Stupendous Sunday
There is an indescribable joy around the nest area this day. The eagles captivate us with their quirks and individual personalities, inspire us with their presence, and give us hope to look ahead. A powerful moment of joy and elation for us, and for Jackie and Shadow a declaration for their bond, diligence, valor, perseverance, focus, unstoppable preparation. The attention that they are both giving to their individual roles is incredible. Shadow as nest protector and supplier, Jackie as shared daytime incubation with Shadow, and Jackie nightshift stalwart. Although she will turn to supplier when the eaglets become a few weeks old too. Like a perfectly prepared Olympic relay team this season's nest incubation exchanges have been stupendous. Jackie leaving right after, or just before 06:30, and Shadow coming up like an expectant daddy to be. Like a valiant warrior he announces himself to the world, sometimes on Jackie’s perch, and sometimes as he gets into the nest bowl. Throughout the day the exchanges continue, with one up and one down. Indeed Shadow has done Daddy Duty of 24 hrs 02mins since Sunday 22nd. He really wants. and is so deserving to be a dad this season.
What we are witnessing now was always there, it was at the other side of the challenges of the past two seasons. The unusually unsynchronized incubation and nesting for the first clutch in 2021, the unfortunate end to the three eggs in the second clutch laid right after. The raven raid on the unviable eggs of 2020, after almost 67 days of focused and diligent incubation and care from the pair.
The ravens also have made Fawnskin their home, and are a beautiful avian with a great plan and powerful purpose. Great purpose goes through great resistance, but great purpose always prevails. The eaglets learn that although they are set to be the ones that are made to fly at 10000 feet, close to the Heavens with great vision, that there is adversity to being in that blessed role. As to be King one must also stand firm in adversity. They are Mighty because they have overcome, not Mighty as they have no resistance. We can apply this to our lives too, as what you are waiting to improve, change will cause you to experience resistance to some degree. Our tendency is to move away from it, when it is by going through it that we will experience the change or improvement that we wanted in the first place. Eagle friend if Jackie and Shadow had moved away, neither they nor we would be gathered around these two eggs, priceless pearls that house the potential of the next Kings of the Azures. What resistance are you moving away from that houses your promise, victory, or your soaring ability Eagle friend? Go through the eschatological tension ( the gap between the unseen and yet to be seen in your life). Remember, nothing is, it is always becoming.
The nest is so much more. it impacts all that come to know of it, and changes them in some unexpected, deep way. It is truly the priceless gift above the noise and cackle, most of which in the end is just noise. This is the special place above the Lake, that nourishes the soul, speaks to the heart, give hope to the future, and informs us that all is well. The future is great as our hope now comes from the Lake.
