@ Kukelke Do you have an explanation for such a sound from an osprey? It was not the raven but Snaps "quacking".
This 'quacking' is the sound of an agitated osprey. Chicks often make this sound just before they start to fight with each other. Can sometimes also be heard during fights, and in adults it's some sort of final, last warning, meaning 'go away or I'll attack you'. Lauma has also made this type of sounds against a raven which came too close earlier in the season.

Maybe our Ospreyfamily lost/loose the nest :slap: Where are Lauma or Perkons?
Our family isn't losing the nest. It's just that they are less often on the nest itself, and therefore the opportunistic scavenging ravens come to see if there's something for them too. No animal says no to an easy meal, neither do ravens.
I haven't seen Lauma on the nest today, yet, neither with my own eyes nor from the reports. Today could very well be the day when Lauma starts her migration. Or any day from now on really. Her task for the season is done after all.
Perkons is probably fishing and will continue to do so until the last osplet has started his/her migration.
