B12 has arrived! The new eaglet hatched late last night around 10:50pm and has been snuggled closely by the female eagle all throughout the night and early morning. We managed to snag a quick screenshot of our new addition.

We are heartbroken to report that B13 has died. Our eagle experts are trying to determine what happened and have been in contact with both federal and state authorities. We must keep in mind that this is not an uncommon occurrence in many eagle nests.

We also must be guided by what is best for B12 and the parents. If we tried to intervene, we could risk injury to the eaglet, its parents, or even nest abandonment.

These scenes may be disturbing to young children and other sensitive individuals. It is possible that one of the parents may consume the body or move it to the side of the nest where it would decompose.

Please remember that viewing wild animals in their environment can be difficult at times for humans to watch.

Mēs esam satriekti, lai ziņotu, ka b13 ir miris. Mūsu gundega eksperti cenšas noteikt, kas notika un ir bijuši saskarē ar gan federālo, gan valsts iestādēm. Mums jāpatur prātā, ka tā nav reta parādība daudzās ērgļa ligzdas.

Mums ir arī jāvadās pēc tā, kas ir labākais b12 un vecākiem. Ja mēs mēģinājām iejaukties, mēs varētu riskēt ar kaitējumu,, tās vecākiem vai pat ligzdu atteikšanās.

Šīs ainas var radīt traucējumus maziem bērniem un citiem jutīgiem indivīdiem. Iespējams, ka viens no vecākiem var patērēt ķermeni vai pārvietot to uz migu pusi, kur tas sadalās.

Lūdzu, atcerieties, ka savvaļas dzīvnieki savā vidē var būt grūti, lai cilvēki varētu skatītie

Nature can be very unforgiving and harsh. Things like this happen all over the country but we don’t see it because the nests do not have cameras. Human interference can cause way more damage then good. The strong survive. I’m sorry for the loss of both the eaglets and for the parents. We may never know why nature took these two back.
