October 18: an owl again disturbed the family, not long after midnight. SE33 sleeping on the rim was alert early –all joined in a warning and both parents chased the owl. Then a quiet night, with all waking early and greeting the day. Swooper currawong was awake early as well. SE33 is doing some serious flapping/flyng across the nest to the perching branch and back. At 9:30 both parents were seen down on the river. Eaglets were waiting, finally at 15:13 Lady brought in part of a fish. They fought over it, with SE33 mantling – as the currawong swooped. Finally SE33 ate, with 34 watching – a small meal. Both eagles were seen down on the river around 4pm. Dad came in a few minutes after -chased by currawong, eaglets keeping their heads down though 34 is bolder protesting at the swoopers. Down on the river Lady was seen missing a catch twice. They both returned to the nest soon though, Dad with an eel, with Lady right behind. SE34 grabbed it and mantled – but took a long time to break into the skin, with swooper disturbance as well. Later SE33 managed to push in and ate some. Tough prey for beginners.

18. oktobris: neilgi pēc pusnakts ģimeni atkal iztraucēja pūce. SE33, kas gulēja uz apmales, bija agri modrs – visi pievienojās brīdinājumam, un abi vecāki pūci dzenāja. Tad klusa nakts, ar visiem agri mostoties un sveicot dienu. Arī Swooper currawong bija nomodā agri. SE33 veic nopietnu plivināšanu/lido pāri ligzdai uz zaru un atpakaļ. 9:30 abi vecāki tika redzēti lejā upē. Ērgļu mazuļi gaidīja, beidzot 15:13 Dāma atnesa daļu zivs. Viņi cīnījās par to, izmantojot SE33 apmetni – kurravongas viļņošanās laikā. Beidzot SE33 paēda, ar 34 skatīšanos – neliela maltīte. Abi ērgļi tika manīti lejā upē ap plkst.16. Dažas minūtes ienāca tētis pēc tam, kad ērgļu mazuļi nolaiduši galvu, lai gan 34 drosmīgāk protestē pret swoopers. Lejā uz upes lēdija tika redzēta divas reizes pazaudējot lomu. Viņi abi drīz atgriezās ligzdā, tētis ar zuti, ar lēdiju tūlīt aiz muguras. SE34 to satvēra un apmetināja, taču pagāja ilgs laiks, līdz tas ielauzās ādā, kā arī radīja triecienus. Vēlāk SE33 izdevās iespiesties un dažus apēda. Smags laupījums iesācējiem.

October 19: a brief storm in the night had the eaglets flapping on the edge, the wind was strong with rain and lightning. Later, they were settled- wet but safe. Early morning SE33 walked up the left hand branch and flew back, when swooped by an early currawong. A favourite perch this morning and later. A long wait during the morning until Lady brought in a juvenile gull at 12:27. SE33 grabbed it and spent ages preparing it, feathers flying. It only ate a little before SE34 stole it at 1:13. Lady came after a while, ate some herself, fed a little and finally took off the remains at 14:25 – a long feed. Swooping neighbours added to the chaos. Dad brought a small fish later at 16:14, grabbed and eaten by SE33. Lady was seen down on the river after an eel in Ermington Bay. She delivered a late eel meal at 5:30 – feeding both eaglets and finishing it off herself. A good prey day. Then more at 18:50 – Lady with a bream – though she ate most herself, with Dad near by hoping, and currawong still swooping..

19. oktobris: īsa vētra naktī lika ērgļus plivināt malās, vējš stiprs ar lietus un zibeņiem. Vēlāk viņi apmetās – slapji, bet droši. Agrā rītā SE33 devās augšup pa kreiso zaru un aizlidoja atpakaļ, kad to pārsteidza agra kurravonga. No rīta ilgi jāgaida, līdz dāma pulksten 12:27 atveda mazu kaiju. SE33 satvēra to. Tas ēda tikai nedaudz pirms SE34 nozaga to pulksten 13:13. Dāma atnāca pēc brīža, pati apēda, nedaudz pabaroja un beidzot 14:25 noņēma mirstīgās atliekas – garā barošana. Haosu pastiprināja svilpošie kaimiņi. Tētis vēlāk 16:14 atnesa mazu zivtiņu, ko paķēra un apēda SE33. Lēdija tika redzēta lejā uz upes pēc zuša Ermingtonas līcī. Viņa piegādāja vēlo zušu maltīti pulksten 17:30 – pabarojot abus ērgļus un pabeidzot to pati. Laba laupījuma diena. Pēc tam vēl pulksten 18:50 — dāma ar breksi — lai gan viņa lielāko daļu ēda pati, tētim esot blakus cerībā, bet Currawong joprojām plosījās.

October 20: a quiet night then an early duet. SE33 walked right up the perch branch, then flew back down when swooped by the currawong – a wise move. Waiting until 10:30 when Lady brought a fish – took it away as swoopers were active – then back again, and off. Currawong swoopers are very disruptive at the nest. Both eagles were then seen down on the river. Dad brought in a fish at 2 47 , followed by Lady. Fish was grabbed by SE34, taking a while to start, then it was taken over by SE33. Eagles were nearby and on the nest, then left. A long feed for the eaglets. Parents were seen down on the river again. Late afternoon around 5:30 Lady brought in a gull, closely followed by Dad with a fish. SE33 mantled over both, then SE34 stole the gull, leaving the fish for 33. Both are self-feeding well now.

20. oktobris: klusa nakts, tad agrs duets. SE33 gāja tieši augšup pa asara zaru un pēc tam lidoja atpakaļ, kad to sita kurravonga – gudrs gājiens. Jāgaida līdz pulksten 10:30, kad lēdija atnesa zivi – aizveda to prom, jo ​​swoopers uzbruka – tad atkal atpakaļ un prom. Currawong swoopers ir ļoti traucējošs ligzdā. Pēc tam abi ērgļi tika manīti lejā upē. Tētis 14: 47 atnesa zivi, kam sekoja lēdija. Zivi sagrāba SE34 pavisam nedaudz, tad to pārņēma SE33. Ērgļi atradās tuvumā un uz ligzdas, tad aizlidoja. Vecāki atkal tika redzēti upē. Vēlā pēcpusdienā ap 17:30 Dāma atveda kaiju, kurai cieši sekoja tētis ar zivi. SE33 sparni pār abiem, tad SE34 nozaga kaiju, atstājot zivis 33. Abi šobrīd labi barojas.

Diena laika ziņu prognozes sola + 21 grādu, brīžiem mākoņainu. Lietus netiek solīts. Rīta cēliens paiet mierīgi, līdz kaut kādā brīdī pārādās zivs(nenoskatīju to brīdi). "kaimiņienes" tracina jauniešus. Abi veiksmigi atgaiņājas.

October 21: early duets and eagles were away at first light. Lady returned with a small gull chick at 6:38 and dad shortly after with a fish. SE33 grabbed the gull and self-fed –only fluff not real feathers. SE34 grabbed the fish and ate it all. Lady took over with the chick from SE33 and fed 34 a little. Later both eagles were reported down on River roost. Se33 was seen earlier up higher on the perch branch and 34 almost flapped to the branch as well. Swoopers were very active – magpie as well. The eaglets move back to the net when swooped. 10:15 Lady brought in a fish, but off again as swoopers were busy. Windy as well by the nest. at 13:28 Dad brought in a small fish which was grabbed by SE34, but as a currawong swooper distracted, it was stolen and eaten by SE33. Both eagles were seen soaring very high over the river shortly after. At 15:22 Dad brought in the remains of a small bird, not a gull, which was grabbed and eaten by SE34, with its sibling watching on. Currawong was swooping Dad nearby. He returned to the nest briefly and fed the scraps to SE33, before leaving again. 6:30 pm, windy and SE33 was “flying” from nest to perch branch, flapping and jumping and back again. – so close to fledging. SE34 was flapping and jumping too Just before 7pm, more prey when dad brings remains of a bird, Lady following A last evening feed from Lady then though swooper was very persistent.

21. oktobris: agri dueti un ērgļi bija prom pirmajā gaismā. Dāma atgriezās ar mazu kaijas cāli pulksten 6:38 un tētis neilgi pēc tam ar zivi. SE33 satvēra kaiju un pabaroja. SE34 paķēra zivis un apēda visu. Dāma pārņēma cāli no SE33 un nedaudz pabaroja 34. Vēlāk tika ziņots, ka abi ērgļi atrodas upes apmetnē. Se33 agrāk tika novērots augstāk uz asari zara, un 34 arī gandrīz uzkāpa uz zara. Ļoti aktīvi bija swoopers. Kad ērgļi tiek notriekti, tie atgriežas pie tīkla. 10:15 Dāma atveda zivi, bet atkal izgāja, jo swoopers bija aizņemti. Pie ligzdas arī vējains. plkst.13:28 tētis ienesa mazu zivtiņu, kuru satvēra SE34, bet, kurrawong swooper novērsa uzmanību, to nozaga un apēda SE33. Neilgi pēc tam abi ērgļi tika manīti ļoti augstu paceļamies virs upes. 15:22 tētis ieveda maza putna, nevis kaijas mirstīgās atliekas, kuras sagrāba un apēda SE34, un viņa brālis un māsa skatījās. Kurrovongas uzbruka tētim netālu. Viņš uz īsu brīdi atgriezās ligzdā un izbaroja paliekas SE33, pirms atkal devās prom. 18:30, vējains un SE33 “lidoja” no ligzdas uz asara zaru, plivināja un lēkāja un atkal atpakaļ. Arī SE34 plīvoja un lēca Īsi pirms pulksten 19:00, lielāks laupījums, kad tētis atnes putna atliekas. Dāma sekoja pēdējā vakara padevei no Lady, lai gan swooper bija ļoti neatlaidīgs.

Diena saulaina +24 grādi. Nemiers ligzdā jau no paša rīta. Kurras jau rosās. Mazliet pakāpēlējām pa zariem
