I viewed the video about ringing from June 12 and could find out:
1) there is 95% possibility that older storklet is a boy and the younger is a girl (measuring beaks); :loveshower:
2) these storklets are the biggest (earliest) storklets known in this year in Latvia and that is very good (the earlier nests have bigger chance to survive); :2thumbsup:
3) younger storklet was 2,25 kg but her brother 2,79 kg; :chick: :chick:
4) when measuring older one these numbers were called: 77 and 73,5 in wing feathers and 97,5 and 20 for the beak (sorry my english and lack of knowledge what is measured);
5) they found the second egg unbroken on the ground
(remember WTE dropped two eggs at April 24, the next night the ornithologist found only one egg in the dark), also this egg will be examined for chemicals.
