October 13: both parents returned to the nest last night, sleeping nearby. Then an early morning family chorus and away. Dad flew to the nest around 6:30 with a lump of scavenged flesh, possibly chicken, which was claimed by Lady and fed to the eaglets. Dad brought in a whiting at 9am then, again claimed by Lady. She fed 36 on the base of PB, with 35 trying to self feed –which it continued after Lady left. Both eaglets have now ventured a little way up the perching branch. A day of plenty: later in the afternoon Lady brought in 2 more gulls to feed them – a few of us saw her fly off with one from River Roost. Then at last light Dad came with another gull. Both eaglet have had plenty to eat and a little self-feeding as well. Indeed a day of plenty

13. oktobris
Abi vecāki atgriezās ligzdā pagājušajā naktī, guļot netālu. Pēc tam sekoja agrīns rīta ģimenes koris un aizlidošana.
Ap pulksten 6:30 Tēvs atlidoja uz ligzdu ar aizēstu gaļas gabalu, iespējams, vistu. To pieprasīja Lēdija (Lady) un izbaroja ērglēniem. Pēc tam, pulksten 9:00, Tēvs atnesa merlangu (whiting), ko atkal pieprasīja Lēdija. Viņa baroja 36. [ērglēnu] uz Pārošanās Zariņa (PB) pamatnes, kamēr 35. [ērglēns] mēģināja baroties pats — ko tas turpināja darīt arī pēc Lēdijas aizlidošanas.
Abi ērglēni tagad ir uzdrošinājušies mazliet doties augšup pa Pārošanās Zariņu.
Šī bija pārbagāta diena: vēlāk pēcpusdienā Lēdija atnesa vēl 2 kaijas, lai tos pabarotu — daži no mums redzēja viņu aizlidojam ar vienu no upes nakšņošanas vietas (River Roost). Tad, pie pēdējās gaismas (krēslā), Tēvs ieradās ar vēl vienu kaiju. Abiem ērglēniem ir bijis daudz ko ēst, kā arī nedaudz pašu barošanās. Patiešām, pārbagāta diena.

14.oktobris

October 14: possum passed in the night several times, with Lady moving closer. There were family duets early and the adults were away. Both were seen down on the river before 7am. 35 was seen flapping and lifting right off the nest. Then a waiting morning – both eagles were seen on River Roost just after midday. Lady came in finally with a young gull and fed them both, after de-feathering. 36 seemed to get most. Late afternoon she brought another gull chick in –they were slow to start feeding, but both ate. Lady then flew down to River Roost. Both returned later.

14. oktobris: naktī vairākas reizes pārskrēja oposumi, Lady pārvietojoties tuvāk. Agri notika ģimenes dueti, un pieaugušie ērgļi bija prom. Abi tika redzēti upē pirms pulksten 7:00. 35 tika redzēts plivinot spārnus un paceļoties tieši no ligzdas. Tad sekoja gaidoša rīta – abi ērgļi tika redzēti Rūstas upē tūlīt pēc pusdienlaika. Lady beidzot ieradās ar jaunu kaiju un pēc spalvu izkrišanas pabaroja tos abus. 36. šķita, ka visvairāk dabūja. Vēlā pēcpusdienā viņa atnesa vēl vienu kaijas mazuli – tie lēni sāka baroties, bet abi ēda. Tad Lady aizlidoja uz Rūstas upi. Abi atgriezās vēlāk.

15.oktobris

October 15; In the night a possum again passed, startling one eaglet a little too. Both are still sleeping together in the nest bowl. Eagles were off in the morning after the usual family chorus. Later one parent was seen down on the river. Lady bought a leafy branch in, Dad as well later. 14:22, she finally brought in a gull chick, spent some time de-feathering, then 36 mantled very efficiently and both self-fed, though 36 ate most. Both eaglets are flapping and lifting well on the nest now. She brought a small fish in and this time 35 mantled over it. Lady fed 35 and it self-fed a little too. Both then were energetically flapping and jumping on the nest. Currawong has been swooping today as well. Then just after 5pm Dad flew in with a leatherjacket, both eaglets rushed in as Lady claimed it and started feeding them. Currawong was swooping Dad nearby as they ate. 35 then self-fed on skin and tail remains, then 36 stole it, and 35 took it back again. Both are learning.

15. oktobris; Naktī atkal pārskrēja oposums, nedaudz pabiedējot arī vienu ērglēniņu. Abi joprojām guļ kopā ligzdas bļodā. Ērgļi no rīta devās prom pēc ierastā ģimenes kora. Vēlāk viens no vecākiem tika redzēts lejā pie upes. Lēdija atnesa lapu zaru, vēlāk arī tētis. 14:22 viņa beidzot atnesa kaijas mazuli, kādu laiku atdalīja spalvas, tad 36 ļoti efektīvi apmetās uz spalvām un abi paši barojās, lai gan 36 apēda lielāko daļu. Viņa atnesa mazu zivtiņu, un šoreiz 35 apmetās uz tās. Lēdija pabaroja 35, un arī tā nedaudz pati barojās. Tad abi enerģiski vicina spārnus un lēkāja uz ligzdas. Arī Karavongs šodien traucēja. Tad īsi pēc pulksten 17:00 tētis ielidoja ar ādas jaku, abi ērglēni steidzās iekšā, kad Lēdija to paņēma, un sāka tos barot. Karavongs lidoja virsū tētim netālu, kamēr viņi ēda. Tad 35 paši barojās ar ādas un astes atliekām, tad 36 to nozaga, un 35 paņēma atpakaļ. Abi mācās.

16.oktobris

October 16: an early family chorus and parents off very early. Both eaglets found a bit of a scrap in the nest, then resting in the sun. Lady brought a leafy twig in at 9:30 – currawongs still there and other birds alarming. Just before 1pm, 35 is flapping and lifting right across the nest, disturbing 36, then protesting loudly. In the afternoon, still waiting, both have turns and flapping and lifting well. At 3pm they jumped up eagerly as dad came in – with nothing. Shortly after a duet and Lady in with a stick. 4m –still waiting. Then Lady flew in with a young gull – which she left them with for a while – then returned. As she tried to take it off to de-feather35 grabbed it –quite a tug of war. She returned having removed some feathers and fed them both, before finishing the last scraps on the branch nearby herself. During the feed they jumped startled when a large branch or tree fell nearby. Early evening Dad came in, puffing, with what seemed like 2 gulls - Lady claimed and fed one portion, taking the other to de-feather and eat herself. Dad had eaten well first. She returned and fed them more- leaving a few scraps for them to self-feed. More flapping, then settled.

Agrīns ģimenes koris, un vecāki aizlidoja ļoti agri. Abi ēglēni atrada kādu atlūzu ligzdā, un pēc tam atpūtās saulē.
Lēdija (Lady) pulksten 9:30 ienesa lapainu zaru — kuravongas (currawongs) joprojām bija tur, un citi putni trauksmaini brīdināja. Tieši pirms pulksten 13:00 Se 35 plivinājās un labi pacēlās pāri visai ligzdai, traucējot se 36, un pēc tam skaļi protestēja.
Pēcpusdienā joprojām notika gaidīšana, un abi pārmaiņus labi plivinājās un cēlās spārnos. Pulksten 15:00 viņi dedzīgi uzlēca kājās, jo Tēvs atlidoja — bez nekā. Drīz pēc tam sekoja duets un Lēdija ieradās ar zaru. 16:00 — joprojām gaidīšana.
Pēc tam Lēdija atlidoja ar jaunu kaiju — kuru viņa uz brīdi atstāja viņiem — un pēc tam atgriezās. Kad viņa mēģināja to atņemt, lai attīrītu no spalvām, se 35 to satvēra — izvērtās īsta virves vilkšana. Viņa atgriezās, noņēmusi dažas spalvas, un pabarojusi abus. Pēc tam viņa pati pabeidza pēdējās atliekas uz tuvējā zara. Barošanas laikā viņi satraukti palēcās, kad tuvumā nokrita liels zars vai koks.
Agrā vakarā Tēvs atlidoja, šķiet, 2 kaijām — Lēdija pieprasīja vienu porciju un pabarojās, otru paņemot, lai attīrītu no spalvām un apēstu pati. Tēvs pirms tam bija labi paēdis. Viņa atgriezās un pabarojusi viņus vēl — atstājot dažas atliekas, lai viņi varētu baroties paši. Vēl nedaudz plivināšanās, un tad viņi apmetās uz nakti.

17.oktobris

October 17: eagles were disturbed in the night, by the possum neighbour passing, then an owl swooping by the nest a couple of times. Both were alert, coming to the nest. After a quieter night later, they were awake early, with the family chorus then away. Our river watchers reported one on River roost around 7am. Dad brought in part of a gull chick at 9:10, both eaglets rushed to mantle –he left it and 35 self-fed until Lady came and claimed it –then feeding both for a while. She left a scrap, which 36 ignored, so was claimed by 35. Then they both flapped, rested, flapped some more – on a windy morning and afternoon. At 4:15 both parents were reported on River roost, with a storm threatened. Lady brought a young gull in at 17:23, fed a little then took it to de-feather and eat herself – then returning to feed both fairly evenly. Then Lady in with a fish, a small bream at 6:20- eaglets mantled, she left them with it – both self-feed, with one grabbing it, then the other. The threatened storm passed by and they settled – until Lady returned after dark with another gull –she fed them briefly, then took it to de-feather, returning to feed them more.

17. oktobris
Naktī ērgļi tika iztraucēti, garām ejošā oposuma un pēc tam pūces dēļ, kura pāris reizes laidelējās gar ligzdu. Abi [pieaugušie] bija modri, atlidojot pie ligzdas.
Pēc vēlākas mierīgākas nakts viņi agri pamodās ar ģimenes kori un tad aizlidoja. Mūsu upes vērotāji ziņoja, ka viens [ērglis] bija Upes Nakšņošanas vietā (River Roost) ap pulksten 7:00.
Pulksten 9:10 Tēvs ienesa kaijas mazuļa daļu. Abi ērglēni metās to apsegt ar spārniem (mantle) — viņš to atstāja, un 35 barojās pats, līdz ieradās Lēdija (Lady), to pieprasīja un tad kādu laiku baroja abus. Viņa atstāja atlūzu, ko 36 ignorēja, tāpēc to paņēma 35 Pēc tam viņi abi plivinājās, atpūtās, vēl nedaudz plivinājās — vējainā rītā un pēcpusdienā.
Pulksten 16:15 tika ziņots, ka abi vecāki atrodas Upes Nakšņošanas vietā, draudot vētrai.
Pulksten 17:23 Lēdija ienesa jaunu kaiju, nedaudz pabarojusi, aiznesa to, lai attīrītu no spalvām un apēstu pati — pēc tam atgriezās, lai pabarotu abus samērā vienmērīgi. Pēc tam, pulksten 18:20, Lēdija ienesa zivi, mazu plici (bream) — ērglēni nosedza zivi ar spārniem, un viņa to atstāja viņiem. Abi barojās paši, viens to satvēra, tad otrs.
Draudošā vētra pagāja garām, un viņi nomierinājās — līdz Lēdija atgriezās pēc tumsas ar vēl vienu kaiju — viņa īsu brīdi pabarojusi, to paņēma, lai attīrītu no spalvām, un pēc tam atgriezās, lai pabarotu viņus vēl.

18.oktobris

October 18: an owl swooped again in the night, knocking one eaglet forward on the nest rim before it regained balance. Lady immediately reacted, flying to the perch branch to monitor, while Dad stayed close, both calling briefly in response. Despite the attack, the eaglets remained calm, showing little lasting distress. All were awake early, with a family chorus and parents off. They were seen on River Roost soon after, with a duet on a fine morning. The day’s feeding activity began late, with no prey deliveries until mid-afternoon. Around 16:11, Lady arrived with a large gull, which one eaglet quickly claimed and began self-feeding on. Moments later, Dad brought in a second prey item—a fish or eel—which Lady took and fed to the other eaglet. For a time, both eaglets fed simultaneously on separate prey while Lady alternated between eating and feeding them. At 16:49, Dad briefly retrieved the bird prey, but Lady immediately took it back and continued feeding both eaglets. The extended double feeding session lasted until about 17:25, after which Dad returned briefly to check for scraps. Both eaglets ate well and self-fed confidently, marking another strong day of feeding progress

18. oktobris: Naktī atkal ieradās pūce, kas uzbruka ligzdā, īslaicīgi pagrūžot vienu ērglēnu uz priekšu pār ligzdas malu, pirms tas atguva līdzsvaru. Lēdija nekavējoties reaģēja, aizlidojot uz koka zaru, lai novērotu situāciju, kamēr Tētis palika tuvumā, abi īslaicīgi saucot atbildes reakcijā. Neskatoties uz uzbrukumu, ērglēni palika mierīgi, neizrādīja ilgstošu satraukumu. Visi agri pamodās, atskanot ģimenes korim, un vecāki devās prom. Drīz pēc tam viņi tika pamanīti pie upes (River Roost), kur rīta skaistumā izpildīja duetu. Dienas barošanas aktivitāte sākās vēlu, medījumu piegādes nebija līdz pat pēcpusdienas vidum. Ap pulksten 16:11 Lēdija atlidoja ar lielu kaiju, kuru viens ērglēns ātri ieguva un sāka pats ēst. Pēc brīža Tētis ienesa otru medījumu – zivi vai zuti – kuru Lēdija paņēma un pabarojot otru ērglēnu. Kādu laiku abi ērglēni vienlaicīgi barojās ar atsevišķu medījumu, kamēr Lēdija pārmaiņus ēda pati un baroja viņus. Pulksten 16:49 Tētis uz īsu brīdi paņēma putnu medījumu, taču Lēdija to nekavējoties atguva un turpināja barot abus ērglēnus. Ilgstošā dubultā barošanas sesija ilga aptuveni līdz pulksten 17:25, pēc kuras Tētis uz brīdi atgriezās, lai pārbaudītu atliekas. Abi ērglēni labi paēda un pašbarojās pārliecinoši, iezīmējot vēl vienu spēcīgu barošanas progresa dienu.

19.oktobris

October 19: a quiet night with no disturbance, early awake and a family chorus. A peaceful warm morning, with both eaglets flapping and jumping and resting in the sun. A currawong was swooping near the nest. Lady brought a small fish in at 12:17 – both rushed to mantle over it, but 35 won and managed to eat the whole fish itself – with 36 trying to get closer. Lady was back with a whole bream at 13:41 – both rushed in and this time Lady fed them herself – with 36 doing very well. 35 moved in and stole one bite from 36. Both fed well and then bickered over scraps when she left – and 36 nicked a bit from 35 this time. Then even more prey when Lady flew in with another fish at 14:42 closely followed by Dad with another. Lady fed both her fish & Dad's to the eaglets. A great day for feeds. Both parents came to the nest before 7pm and went to their roosts. A leafy branch was brought in earlier and the eaglets were moving it round the nest last thing.

19. oktobris
Klusā nakts pagāja bez traucējumiem, agrā pamošanās un ģimenes koris. Bija mierīgs, silts rīts, kurā abi ērglēni plivinājās, lēkāja un atpūtās saulē. Tuvumā pie ligzdas laidelējās kuravonga (currawong).
Lēdija (Lady) pulksten 12:17 atnesa mazu zivi — abi metās to apsegt ar spārniem (mantle), bet 35 uzvarēja un pats spēja apēst visu zivi, kamēr 36 mēģināja piekļūt tuvāk.
Pulksten 13:41 Lēdija atgriezās ar veselu plici (bream) — abi metās klāt, un šoreiz Lēdija pabarojusi viņus pati, un gāja ļoti labi. 35 pievirzījās klāt un nozaga vienu kumosu no 36. Abi labi paēda un tad ķildojās par atliekām, kad viņa aizlidoja — šoreiz 36 nočiepa gabaliņu no 35.
Pēc tam bija vēl vairāk medījuma, kad pulksten 14:42 Lēdija atlidoja ar vēl vienu zivi, kurai cieši sekoja Tēvs ar vēl vienu. Lēdija izbaroja ērglēniem gan savu zivi, gan Tēva zivi. Lieliska barošanas diena.
Abi vecāki atlidoja uz ligzdu pirms pulksten 19:00 un devās uz savām nakšņošanas vietām. Agrāk tika atnests lapains zars, un ērglēni ar to pārvietojās pa ligzdu vēl pēdējā brīdī.

20.oktobris

October 20: another quiet night, early family chorus and parents off. Both eaglets were seen flapping wildly on the nest. At 7:37 35 flew across the nest to the base of PB, on the rim. After looking closely and discussion, we agree that 35 has branched – at just under 10 weeks. When Dad brought in a small fish at 8:09, they both rushed up and mantled. SE35 won the fish and then ate the whole fish itself –with 36 watching passively. It only moved closer at the end with no attempt to move in. Lady came in closer but only watched. Later a currawong swooped the eaglets a couple of times. Again swooping and following when Lady brought a mullet in at 12:46 and was feeding 35. She fed 36 then so both ate. When Lady brought a young gull in at 4:12, she was panting heavily. She took it to de-feather on the branch. Shortly after Dad came with a small fish and he began feeding them, then left it –with 35 starting to self-feed –and distracted by a swooper again. Lady returned with the gull and fed 36 as 35 ate the fish – then it continued with a scrap of the gull. Both have eaten well on a very warm day.

20. oktobris
Vēl viena klusa nakts, agrīns ģimenes koris un vecāki aizlidoja. Abi ērglēni ligzdā mežonīgi plivinājās. Pulksten 7:37 Se 35 pārlidoja pāri ligzdai uz Pārošanās Zariņa (PB) pamatni, uz ligzdas malas. Pēc rūpīgas novērošanas un diskusijas mēs secinājām, ka 35 ir sācis atzaroties (branched) – gandrīz 10 nedēļu vecumā.
Kad Tēvs pulksten 8:09 ienesa mazu zivi, abi metās klāt un nosedza to ar spārniem (mantle). SE35 ieguva zivi un pēc tam apēda visu zivi pats – 36 pasīvi noskatījās. Tas pietuvojās tuvāk tikai beigās, nemēģinot patraucēt. Lēdija (Lady) atlidoja tuvāk, bet tikai vēroja.
Vēlāk kuravonga (currawong) pāris reizes laidelējās gar ērglēniem. Atkal laidelējās un sekoja, kad Lēdija pulksten 12:46 atnesa mulleti (mullet) un baroja 35. Pēc tam viņa pabarojusi arī 36, tā ka paēda abi.
Kad Lēdija pulksten 16:12 atnesa jaunu kaiju, viņa smagi elsoja. Viņa aiznesa to attīrīt no spalvām uz zara. Īsi pēc tam Tēvs atlidoja ar mazu zivi un sāka viņus barot, pēc tam atstāja to — 35 sāka baroties pats, bet to atkal novērsa laidelējošs putns. Lēdija atgriezās ar kaiju un baroja 36 , kamēr 35 ēda zivi — pēc tam turpināja ar kaijas paliekām.Abi ir labi paēduši ļoti siltā dienā.

21.oktobris

October 21: another quiet night, early family chorus, then parents away and seen down on river roost. Dad brought in a gull chick at 7:27, followed by Lady. She fed both eaglets, with perhaps more to 35. 36 did not seem interested. 35 had bony bits to self-feed on, leg then wing. Lady left the bone with 35 – changing ownership as both then had a pick at it. Both rested and flapped during the morning – on a warm day. They watched as Dad brought in part of a leatherjacket at 3pm, both rushed in and 36 mantled over it, eating for some time until 35 took over. Dad moved off, Lady came and watched for a while, then off. They both picked at bits of skin and scraps, with 35 eating on the nest rim. They both watched again as Lady brought in bird prey – this time she fed them, mainly to 36. In the evening then both were sitting on the rim, looking out at the world.


21. oktobris
Vēl viena klusa nakts, agrīns ģimenes koris, pēc tam vecāki aizlidoja un bija redzami Upes Nakšņošanas vietā (River Roost).
7:27 Tēvs ienesa kaijas mazuli, kuram sekoja Lēdija (Lady). Viņa pabarojusi abus ērglēnus, iespējams, vairāk dodot 35. SE 36 neizrādīja interesi. 35 pats ēda kaulainos gabalus — vispirms kāju, tad spārnu. Lēdija atstāja kaulu 35 — īpašnieks mainījās, jo pēc tam abi to knābāja.
Silta rīta gaitā abi atpūtās un plivinājās. Pulksten 15:00 viņi vēroja, kā Tēvs ienes daļu no "ādas jakas" zivs (leatherjacket). Abi metās klāt, un 36 to nosedza ar spārniem (mantled), ēdot kādu laiku, līdz 35 pārņēma vadību. Tēvs aizlidoja, Lēdija atlidoja, lai nedaudz pavērotu, un tad aizlidoja pati. Abi knābāja ādas gabaliņus un atliekas, 35 ēdot uz ligzdas malas.
Viņi atkal vēroja, kā Lēdija ienes putnu — šoreiz viņa pabarojusi viņus, galvenokārt 36. Vakarā abi sēdēja uz ligzdas malas, vērojot pasauli.

22.oktobris

October 22: 35 is spending some time standing to sleep and both were on the rim some of the time last night. They were all alert as a Flying Fox visited close by. Early awake, with several choruses. Adults were seen then down on River Roost. 36 is flapping around the bowl as well and 35 climbed higher up the left side branch. They are pushing and flapping at one another on the rim – take care there. Around 11am, 36 was protesting loudly at 35 flapping and jumping too close. It is a very hot and windy day. Then 35 moved up the branch again – tricky in the wind. Mid afternoon we heard there was a grass fire nearby, which was quickly put out. Then just after 4pm both were up left hand rail, 35 trying to move a stick, then climbed up - slipped in the wind, very dicey moment. But both recovered –and still waiting for a feed at 5pm –but keeping their heads down in the wind sensibly. One parent was seen on River Roost late afternoon –then the other as well. Lady returned near the nest after 6pm, with a currawong escort –no prey.

Se35 daļu nakts pavadīja guļot stāvus, un abi daļu nakts atradās uz ligzdas malas. Viņi visi bija modri, kad tuvumā noskreja Lidojošā lapsa (Flying Fox – liels augļēdājs sikspārnis). Agri pamodās ar vairākiem kora dziedājumiem.
Pieaugušie ērgļi pēc tam bija redzami Upes Nakšņošanas vietā (River Roost). Arī 36 plivinājās ligzdas bļodā, bet 35 uzkāpa augstāk uz kreisās puses zara. Uz malas viņi grūstījās un plivinājās viens pie otra — uzmanieties tur. Ap pulksten 11:00 Se 36 skaļi protestēja, jo 35 plivinājās un lēkāja pārāk tuvu.
Diena bija ļoti karsta un vējaina. Tad 35 atkal pārvietojās uz augšu pa zaru — tas bija sarežģīti vējā.
Pēcpusdienā mēs dzirdējām, ka tuvumā ir izcēlies zāles ugunsgrēks, kas tika ātri nodzēsts. Pēc pulksten 16:00 abi bija uz kreisās puses zara — 35 mēģināja pārvietot zaru, pēc tam uzkāpa augšā, paslīdēja vējā — ļoti bīstams brīdis. Taču abi atguvās — un pulksten 17:00 joprojām gaidīja barību, bet saprātīgi turēja galvas zemu vējā.
Vēlu pēcpusdienā viens no vecākiem bija redzams Upes Nakšņošanas vietā, pēc tam arī otrs. Lēdija atgriezās netālu no ligzdas pēc pulksten 18:00 ar kuravongu eskortu — bez medījuma.
