An Owl Strikes Harriet!! Knocks Her Off The Attic Onto Nest! Extreme Distress Vocals!

Harriet was hit by the GHO tonight at 11:33 PM. It was a hard strike - the owl slammed into her and the force knocked her off the attic and onto the nest. Harriet was extremely upset and shook up by this silent and sudden attack on her. Luckily she landed on the edge of the nest and not on the babies sleeping in the center of the nest. Both E17 & E18 are safe and were not harmed. M was on the outer attic and he responded to Harriet 's distress calls. Harriet remained on alert for the next 35 minutes while she stayed on the nest to protect the E's. After midnight, she went to the veranda and both she and M began to vocalize again.
The full moon tonight gave the owl a distinct advantage in targeting Harriet. The owl flew in from across the street, the same location it comes from when it is about to strike one of the eagles. These attacks are becoming more violent and are a cause of concern for the safety of not only Harriet and M but of the E's as well. Both Harriet and M remain strong in their protection of their family and territory.Enjoy the video and scaps!
