A male black stork who has a special affinity for wetlands in iași county, Karl was ringed and equipped with Satellite Transmitter in 2016 in Estonia, the area where breeds. At the end of the nesting season (last year he had two cubs, this year grew three), on his way to Africa, Karl makes one major stop to regain his forces before he travels thousands of miles to the areas where winter .. Last year he remained in our land for 5 weeks and this year is present in the area since the beginning of the month and still no signs of wanting to leave.
For us, it is a good opportunity to learn details about the lives of these birds but also to draw attention to the importance of wetlands, in this particular case, but also on the protected areas that are important for bird migration in general.
On this note, they brought their contribution, among others, Emanuel Baltag, Lucian-Eugen Bolboaca and Lucian Fasola-Matasaru.

Abi putni atrodas aptuveni 11 km attālumā viens no otra.
ar oranžajiem aerosola otas triepieniem es esmu iezīmējusi Kates vietas, visvairāk pa kreisi no Karla, bet arī ap Māra Strazda pērnās ekspedīcijas vietu Ungheni-Iasi.
