Signal Station Trigs GPS update today.

Viņa dažreiz atpūšas uz ūdens, bet dažreiz lido. Šī ir vieta, kur viņa varētu atrast barību.She is sometimes resting on the water and sometimes flying. This is an area where she could find food.

Signal Station Trig has travelled nearly 200km from the headland

Signal Station Trig has flown over 235km in a northeasterly direction. Toroa use a type of flying called dynamic soaring. A bit like a yacht tacking, they use the wind currents of the ocean swell to gain height and speed.

DING DING DING
Do you hear that? It's the sound of the bells ringing across Dunedin for the first returnee of the Toroa breeding season.
It’s time to grab your bells and join us in celebration on Thursday 25th of September at 12:30 pm NZST.
KM (black metal) is our first returner for the 2025/2026 season!
He is a 30-year-old male who has raised 12 chicks since 2003, including the 2017 Royalcam parent BK. He has had the same mate throughout his breeding years, and together, they have been a highly successful pair.
New season’s arrivals stand out from the remaining breeders who are still fledging chicks as they have a pale bill unlike the bright pink bill of a parent who has a chick to feed, and they often have dark feathers on the head which will fade during the summer.
Don't have a bell? set your phone alarm to ring, clap, cheer, or sing us a song!
In Dunedin? Come to the Royal Albatross Centre and ring the bells with us!
Tag us in your celebrations, we would love to see them all!
