Oct 4, 15:24 -- The chick has zippered partway around the egg, forming a lid. Won't be long now! After the initial pip, chicks usually have a long period of inactivity (unless they live in Melbourne!). This chick is now in the final stage, which can last 3-4 hours on average, while the chick is working hard with its egg tooth.

Xavier left in charge of the chicks and egg. Look at those two little white fuzz balls, barely able to hold their heads up! Does Xavier look unsure of himself as he gazes after Diamond? (Oct 5, 15:55)

Update: 8 October 8:30 a.m. Death of the Tiny chick is now official. Cilla made the call.
Update: 6:20 a.m. limp and lifeless. Viewers beware... I need to leave the house for a couple hours. If an official call is posted on the Youtube chat, please update here in this group.
3:30 a.m.: Movement was seen after the time when people started posting about it in this group. I'm under no illusion that Tiny will live, and it is highly likely that he or she has passed away in recent hours, but the announcement was premature.

Izzi's glorious wings at 25 days old! Lots of fluff, with a lacy trim of new feather tips. What a cool stage. Diamond looks impressed! (Oct 30)
