October 1: eagles were disturbed in the night, and responded with a duet at 1:30 – nestlings joined in too. All were awake very early in the morning, with a couple of quartets and a mating. Dad left at 5:23. Lady moved higher and it didn’t take long for currawong swooper to turn up. A long day, waiting, until Lady brought a small bird at 15:16 and fed both. Then at 4:34 – Dad brought in a good-sized bream which was grabbed by Lady. She fed both and then flew off up the branch. Just before 6pm Dad brought part of a bird carcass and Lady came back quickly to feed them. SE34 tried to swallow a leg, but Lady took it again. They later settled for the night, with Lady nearby.
1. oktobris: ērgļi tika iztraucēti naktī un pulksten 1:30 atbildēja ar duetu – pievienojās arī jaunieši. Visi bija nomodā ļoti agri no rīta ar pāris kvartetiem un pārošanos. Tētis aizgāja 5:23. Lēdija pacēlās augstāk, un nepagāja ilgs laiks, līdz pacēlās kurorvongas . Gara diena, gaidot, līdz dāma 15:16 atnesa mazu putniņu un pabaroja abus. Tad pulksten 16:34 – tētis ienesa laba izmēra breksi, ko lēdija satvēra. Viņa pabaroja abus un pēc tam uzlidoja pa zaru. Tieši pirms pulksten 18:00 tētis atnesa daļu no putna līķa, un lēdija ātri atgriezās, lai tos pabarotu. SE34 mēģināja norīt kāju, bet lēdija to atkal paņēma. Vēlāk viņi apmetās pa nakti, un netālu atradās lēdija.

October 2: Nestlings are still sleeping lying down, though with Lady nearby rather than covering them. Again eagles were duetting very early, then Dad away. Currawong swooper awake early too. Rain started around 8:30. Nestlings were flapping and jumping in the rain – lifting off a little now. Waiting …and at 11:16 Dad brought a fish, closely followed in by Lady. She fed them both, while Dad came and moved things around in the nest. When finished, all joined in a quartet. Youngers are alert to action around the nest. Both back up to the rim now to defecate off the nest. 3pm, still waiting, though currawong is about. Lady brought in a gull chick at 15:17, fed a little, then took it off to de-feather. When she returned, nestling grabbed it, mantling over it – though Lady took it back and fed both. Late afternoon Dad arrived with a fish – he fed for a short while, fending off a grab by SE34 – then Lady flew in and took over. Both ate, then flapped and jumped on the nest. Later, they settled for the night– but more, when Dad brought a fish at 6:15, grabbed by Lady, but she left it on the nest, for the morning.
2. oktobris: Caļi joprojām guļ guļus, lai gan lēdija ir tuvumā, nevis apsegta. Atkal ērgļi bija duetā ļoti agri, tad tētis bija prom. Arī Currawong swooper pamostas agri. Lietus sākās ap 8:30. Nestlings plīvināja spārnus un lēkāja lietū – tjau nedaudz paceļas gaisā. Gaida… un pulksten 11:16 tētis atnesa zivi, kurai cieši sekoja lēdija. Viņa abus pabaroja, kamēr tētis atnāca un pārcēla mantas ligzdā. Pabeidzot, visi apvienojās kvartetā. Jaunieši ir modri, lai rīkotos ap ligzdu. Abi jau atkāpjas līdz malai, lai izkārnītos no ligzdas. 15:00, joprojām gaida, lai gan currawong ir tuvumā. Dāma 15:17 atveda kaijas cāli, nedaudz pabaroja, tad noņēma, lai attīrītu spalvas. Kad viņa atgriezās, ligzdas mazulis to satvēra, apmetot to pāri, lai gan lēdija to paņēma atpakaļ un abus pabaroja. Vēlā pēcpusdienā ieradās tētis ar zivi – viņš īsu brīdi pabaroja, atvairoties no SE34 , tad lēdija ielidoja un pārņēma vadību. Abi ēda, tad plivinājās. October 3: a very early start just after 5am, when Lady fed last evening's fish to them both. Around 7am both eagles were seen down on the river roost. Later Lady returned and was heard above the nest, annoyed by the currawong swooper. Both were in and out around midday with leaves, then duets and mating. The nestlings joined in the chorus. Lady brought a good-sized bream in around 1:30 and fed them both. The eaglets picked around for a few scraps afterwards. An hour later Dad brought a live eel, quickly grabbed by Lady and taken up the branch to prep and eat herself. She had a good eel meal, eaglets flapping and jumping as they waited and Dad watching on. She returned to feed them both, and still there were left-overs. She ate more, Dad tried to join in and the eaglets ate a little. Then a duet. Dad finally got it –and fed the eaglets a little. Late evening duet and mating, eaglets wingercising – then all settled at last.
3. oktobris: ļoti agrs sākums tūlīt pēc pulksten 5:00, kad lēdija viņus abus pabaroja pagājušā vakara zivi. Ap pulksten 7 no rīta abi ērgļi tika manīti lejā upes riestā. Vēlāk lēdija atgriezās un tika sadzirdēta virs ligzdas, kurravongu kaitināta. Abi bija iekšā un ārā ap pusdienlaiku ar lapām, tad dueti un pārošanās. Jaunieši pievienojās korim. Kundze ap pulksten 13:30 atnesa laba izmēra breksi un pabaroja abus. Pēc tam ērgļi paņēma dažas paliekas. Pēc stundas tētis atnesa dzīvu zuti, ko lēdija ātri satvēra un paņēma uz zaru, lai sagatavotos un ēstu pati. Viņai bija laba zušu maltīte, ērgļu mazuļi plivināja un lēkāja, kamēr viņi gaidīja, un tētis skatījās tālāk. Viņa atgriezās, lai pabarotu viņus abus, un joprojām bija pārpalikumi. Viņa ēda vairāk, tētis mēģināja pievienoties un ērgļu mazuļi ēda. Pēc tam duets. Tētis beidzot to dabūja un nedaudz pabaroja ērgļus. Vēlā vakara duets un pārošanās, ērgļu spārnošana – tad beidzot viss nokārtojās.

October 4: The little Boobook owl visited in the night, probably after insects attracted to the IR light – eagles stirred and called on and off. Again they were awake at first light and Dad brought a gull chick in just after 6am. Both were fed, with Lady finishing it off. At 7:10, Dad was down on the river, and Lady above the nest –with currawong swooper already. Then waiting. At 2:40 both eagles were reported down on the river and later seen catching eels in Ermington Bay. Lady delivered a big eel at 15:33 and fed them both an eel meal. Shortly after Dad delivered another eel. Eaglets ate, Lady and Dad ate. Both were well fed at the end of day. At dark, Dad was still eating –will there be some left for the morning?

Tad cāļi gaida. 14:40 tika ziņots, ka abi ērgļi nokļuva upē un vēlāk tika manīti ķeram zušus Ermingtonas līcī. Kundze piegādāja lielu zuti pulksten 15:33 un pabaroja abus ar zuti. Dad brought leaves early. At 9am he brought an eel and started feeding, but neither were very interested. Both picked at scraps a little and Dad ate plenty. Eagles were hassled by swoopers again. Waiting…At 3:20, both eagles were down on the river. Later more leaves brought as well. Then in the evening, eagles came in to settle for the night – hungry nestlings in the nest bowl. Tomorrow hopefully there will be more.

Tētis agri atnesa lapas. 9:00 viņš atnesa zuti un sāka barot, bet neviens nebija īpaši ieinteresēts. Abi mazliet salasīja pārpalikumus, un tētis ēda daudz. Ērgļus atkal apgrūtināja swoopers. Gaida... Pulksten 15:20 abi ērgļi atradās upē. Vēlāk atnesa arī vairāk lapu. Tad vakarā uz nakti ienāca ērgļi – ligzdas bļodā izsalkuši mazuļi. Rīt cerams būs vēl.

Just before 4pm, Dad brought in a small portion of fish and fed both – didn’t last long and SE33 grabbed the last scrap from SE34. Late afternoon, SE33 was standing right on the front rim, flapping and moving sticks about. Looking back we noticed that on Friday SE33 was seen on the lower part of Perching Branch – venturing out. At dark, both finally settled down.
6. oktobris: visi agri nomodā, ar duetiem un visiem kopā. Tētis pāris reizes atnesa lapas. Ērgļu mazuļi gaidīja visu rītu, līdz lēdija pulksten 12:26 atnesa kefalīti un pabaroja abus. Īsi pirms pulksten 16:00 tētis atnesa nelielu zivju porciju un pabaroja abus — tas neizturēja ilgi, un SE33 satvēra pēdējo SE34 gabalu. Vēlā pēcpusdienā SE33 stāvēja tieši uz priekšējās malas, plīvoja un kustināja nūjas. Atskatoties pagātnē, mēs pamanījām, ka piektdien SE33 bija redzams Perching Branch lejas daļā - izbraucot ārā.
