August 25: a fine early morning, with a duet then Lady away. Dad brooded briefly then left and retuned with a small fish. Lady fed them both, with a little pecking from 35 at first, then both ate well. Dad brought another fish at 8:39 and Lady fed them again – a good feed. From mid-morning they were alone on the nest, with full crops and milder weather. They are both top-heavy, and tumble over in the crowded nest bowl. Early afternoon, 36 was seen climbing up the side of the bowl –a first. The parents were heard with several duets and mating in the afternoon. The chicks were uncovered for a long time from around 11am, then Dad bought a plucked pigeon carcass and they were fed again – with Lady settling over them around 3:30. She fed them again when Dad came in and investigated the remains. And again when he brought a gull chick. Then shortly after a bream –a magic prey day. By this stage both chicks are full. But Dad at last light fed 35 a little and Lady took over with a couple of bites. Then all settled for the night.
