Roger Watkins -..... Many are using the term as in the name Dai. Dai is pronounced as in the English "Die". It's the diminutive of the name Dafydd (David). In the case of DD, however, its probably Dau which means two (as in two white spots or dots above his eyes). Hence Dau Dot not Dai Dot.
Both forms are pronounced as in the English "Die". A bit confusing but there you are ....

If you spell Dai phonetically in Welsh, it's Dau. The letter "u" sounds like an "ee" or an"i" in spoken Welsh. Has that confused everyone even more? It's difficult to explain.....
