Zivjērgļi Difi, Velsā, 2014-2016 (Montijs, Glesnija, Blue24)

16.30 (18.30) B24(10) ir atkal atgriezusies Difi. No rīta vēl bija Ratlendā. Vakar speciāli pētīju karti, attālums starp abām vietām ir aptuveni 500 km.

Kur Dai Dots? Vai tiešām viņš nepievērsīs uzmanību šai skaistajai lēdijai?

Blue 24 un Dai Dots. Pāris ir labs, bet viņi nav savā ligzdā...

Njā... Ja sākās kopulācija, tad olas var gaidīt pēc dienām desmit (+/-, īsti nezinu cik ir konkrēti zivjērgļiem)
Ja šajā laikā Montijs vēl neatlidos, B24 olas iedēs šajā ligzdā un tad kad Montijs atlidos, viņš dējumu izpostīs vai arī sāksies kaujas.

Būtu ļoti labi, ja īstie ligzdas saimnieki atlidotu cik vien iespējams ātri, tad šis pāris varētu paspēt apmesties kaut kur citā vietā. Palasot Difi blogu, sapratu, ka viņi ir uzstādījuši vairākas mākslīgās ligzdas, tā kā šiem abiem būtu kur apmesties.

Speciālists, kurš pietuvina detaļas, darbu vēl nav uzsācis, jo Velsā ir agrs rīts. Izskatās jau pēc B24, bet nepietuvinot tas ir tikai minējums.

9.40 (11.40) Te viss notiek Dai Dots un B24 pārojās un nes zarus ligzdai No vienas puses prieks, ka divi ērgļi satikās un nolēma dibināt ģimeni
Viens mīnus, atlidos Montijs, viņš par to nepriecāsies

The reality is that it is very early days in their relationship. A lot of things have to be right before a firm bond can be established. They are both testing out one another as well as the situation in which they find themselves. At the moment neither of them can feel bound and imprinted to the nest. They know it isn't theirs and there are huge risks attached to commitment until they can be sure that Monty is not going to return. They won't make that investment. If Monty turns up and re-establishes his authority on the nest site he will be likely to reject Blue 24 until it's obvious that Glesni is not going to return.Only then will she have a chance with Monty. Dai Dot, to get a look in at all in the long run, will either have to wait until it is obvious that Monty won't return or he will need to build elsewhere and then try to attract a mate. That may or may not be Blue 24. If neither Monty nor Glesni return either Dai Dot or Blue 24 or both MIGHT become imprinted to the nest into perpetuity. For both of them to do so, one, other or both of them need to imprint to the nest (ie. with surety) before they will feel confident enough to commit to fulfilling their relationship through meaningful pair bonding behaviour. This might well be the final outcome but I'm afraid "there's many a slip twixt cup and lip" as they say. Keep watching this space and still keep looking up! If he's coming Monty will have the biggest say.

Attiecībā uz Blue 24 un Dai Dot attiecībām - tās vēl ir sākuma stadijā, abi putni vēl neuzskata šo ligzdu par savu, tāpēc Dai Dots vēl nenes zivi mātītei B24. Abiem jāzin, ka ligzda ir brīva, tātad - gaidam Montiju un Glesniju ... jo putniem jau galvenais - ligzdošanas prieks!

8.00 Blue24 visu laiku lūdza, lai viņai atnes zivi un tad pati nolēma iet paēst...un tieši tai mirklī Dai Dots atnesa zivi! Paskatījās apkārt un aizlidoja brokastot vienatnē...

lianaliesma, tā bilde kur viņi abi tuvplānā ir ļoti skaista. Būtu prieks, ja tik skaistam pārim būtu veiksmīga ligzdošana. Bet labāk gan citā ligzdā

A few days ago I was on the live streaming chat and said how I was worried about Dai Dot and blue 24 could pair off and take over Monty's nest, but most of all what If blue 24 and Dai Dot succeed in mating, Paul the wildlife writer and Cloe B said no chance as the first two weeks are purely bonding and pairing off, eggs would not be fertilised until blue 24 feels that Dai Dot would make a good provider. What I found interesting was, I was thinking on a human level and that was my response as a human not as an osprey, this made me realise just how much I respond to nature, animal world and any other situation with human reactions and this is normal but I do wonder if we all do this without realising it. So I suppose what I am saying is to be able to ignore our human emotions and put them aside and at that point become the bird, animal, fish or anything else so to understand their actions on their level would be near impossible unless you are educated on that subject at a very high level. This web sight has provided that chance and with so many people with that knowledge willing to share it freely, we are all the richer for it and I am learning all the time. Being human has its disadvantage but with that comes an overwhelming compassion for nature and the animal kingdom and I look forward to the day I can be that bird, animal, or even a simple plant and react on their level and not as a human so to be at one with nature and I feel we all do given the chance.

In the case of DD, however, its probably Dau which means two (as in two white spots or dots above his eyes). Hence Dau Dot not Dai Dot. Both forms are pronounced as in the English "Die". A bit confusing but there you are ....
