SWFL Eagles ~ M15 Delivers Prey To Nest For E15! Breakfast Is Served & Full Crop Seen!

I just spoke to two wonderful rehabbers from CROW regarding concerns some members may have about E15's unusual lengthy nest stay.
Both of these rehabbers are very familiar with the nest and watch the cams themselves. They both were involved with collection of data and the testing of E14's remains.
Here is what they are saying about E15.
While unusual behavior here at this nest, it is not at all unusual for juvenile eagles in Northern areas (even Jacksonville) to stay around the nest for months, sometimes up to 8 or 9 months.
They both feel E15 is in perfect physical health but just needs more time.
They both feel that M15 may need to cut back on feedings and encourage E15 to venture out.
They mentioned that Harriet has distanced herself from E15 moreso than M, probably due to her age and experience.
Finally they spoke about the timing of this clutch not being typical for H & M or the E's. The rainy season could be affecting E15 wanting to leave.
In summary, they both feel that E15 will leave the area in another week or two, and/or possibly forced out after that. They both feel E15 is fully capable of scavenging, which is what juvenile eaglets do for the first few years on their own.
They are watching just like we are, so that is very reassuring.
I hope this information helps put your minds at ease.❤
