Today was Bald Eagle chicks banding day at Ron & Rose’s nest! And we had a special guest - TV’s Jeff Corwin came to film it! When we know what date the show will air, we will let you know. Both babies seem healthy, with healthy weights. R7 had a bit of attitude
but that’s healthy too! R7 has band 57, R8 has band 58, both bands are green over black. Once we get the feather sample results back, we will let you know the sex of the babies. And we are trying to get the chat turned back on. Shannon Gallagher did a fantastic job going up the tree to retrieve the babies, then to put them back. She also removed a purple fabric from the nest, that the parents had brought to the nest. We removed it because it posed a choking hazard to the babies. Just a reminder to be careful with your trash so it doesn’t harm wildlife. We wore personal protective equipment to protect the birds. Viņa arī izņēma no ligzdas violetu audumu, ko vecāki bija atnesuši ligzdā. Mēs to noņēmām, jo tas radīja aizrīšanās risku mazuļiem. Tikai atgādinājums būt uzmanīgiem ar atkritumiem, lai tie nekaitētu savvaļas dzīvniekiem. Putnu aizsardzībai izmantojām individuālos aizsardzības līdzekļus. Vecāki ērgļi ir atgriezušies ligzdā un viss kārtībā.
