10/20/18 - Here's Stormy looking stunning as ever.
Stormy has been raised by one of the best pairs of eagles many of us have ever witnessed. Today, i'm excited that I will be able to share my observation of Mama, Papa and Shadow that I snuck in early evening before sundown. The best part of my most current observation is the close flight and contact made by parents aka Jackie and Mr. B with Shadow in distant tow and also where I observed them is interesting. I will share my exciting observation of Mama and Papa next It is looking like we will have a pretty sunrise here in the eagles neighborhood by Big Bear Lake. - Trish

This day was nice for observations as they came as a surprise mid day for us. We had lunch plans on the city side of the valley. Mike and I made our way across Stanfield Cutoff and we were late to lunch as we spotted two juveniles in the main perch tree between the hwy and lakeside. I took a few pictures and we went on to lunch as planned. After our lunch where we had met up with our friend, Owen, we made our way back to the tree where the two juveniles were. Owen had his 500mm lens and I had my 600mm lens. We each got different angles and views which made the observation time more interesting. We were able to determine it was blue banded juvenile eagle V33 from Arizona and a not familiar smaller unbanded juvenile. This pair spent at least three hours together at the cutoff. Later in the afternoon, Mike spotted a juvenile in the same perch and I wonder who that juvenile was! Owen took some amazing pictures today of the eagles and this series starts with the smaller looking unfamiliar juvenile who was interacting and perching with blue banded V33. It was a great day for observations and photography. At dusk it was so sweet as I was able to listened to Mama, Papa and Shadow all having great convo here in the eagles neighborhood by Big Bear Lake. - Trish
