The AEF remains optimistic but also wants to educate those on the biological reality of what could happen in a wild nest situation. However, to prepare our viewers in this time of anticipation and unknowns, four likely scenarios can be considered:
Scenario #1: One or both eggs do not hatch. We will leave all cams on for viewers to watch. We will let nature take its course where they could be buried within the nesting material and/or consumed by the adult eagles.
Scenario #2: One or both eggs hatch as expected. Our team will be closely monitoring the situation for any signs of aggression or potential harm to the eaglets from the visiting females. Cams will remain on strictly for educational purposes.
Scenario #3: One or both eggs hatch as expected. Female instincts kick-in and the eaglets are successfully raised by Romeo and new female.
Scenario #4: One or both eggs hatch as expected. Female remains at nest but exhibits detachment from the eaglets, offers no help, and also shows no signs of aggression towards eaglets. We will watch and hope that Romeo can care for the eaglets on his own.

jd_AEF (Moderator): 4:39 am Adult female enters the nest and nudges Romeo away. She rolls the eggs around, picked up the egg by the pip hole and moved it, perhaps curious, and aerates the nest. She rejoined Romeo at the branch with some vocals. Romeo returns to the nest at 5:00 am."
