We are going to try to band the Two Harbors eagle chick today. We should arrive late morning or early afternoon.

Institute for Wildlife Studies, Dr Sharpe said he used a male band. Isn’t that a different color, and couldn’t that possibly lead to ID issues in the future? When the band number cannot be read, of course.

Robin Stockfelt I band suspected females with the orange band on the left leg and suspected males with the orange band on the right leg. There are no separate male and female bands.

Thank you to Dave and Gina Long with Catalina Falconry for adopting the Two Harbors nest and allowing the students at Avalon Schools to suggest and vote on names. The winning name is Lancer, the school's mascot. The chick measured as a female based on the beak and as a male based upon the leg. I'm going with female for the records.
